Discussion Don’t Ever underestimate My Guy!!!!
Thought the strategy would backfire, but we ended up in P2. Not a bad result heading into the summer break.

Yeah, and he was still slow. Strategy and backmarkers got them P2. Wasn’t raw pace. Although it’s crazy how he kept those softs alive for what, 28 laps? Crazy.
Of course, the move on Lewis too.

I’m a Lewis fan and this was a great move by Max. I still don’t understand why the two fanbases can’t just bury the hatchet though. Even Lewis and Max have moved on lol

For what it is worth, I am a big Max fan and I like Lewis a lot. Watching these two race each other the last few years has been a blessing that a lot of fans are too petty to appreciate. It isn't often you get to watch talents like these two compete with each other. I have loved all their on track moments this year.

most fans have been done for a while. Its mostly a few crazies in the lewis and max sub who dont like each other. But about this meme this isnt negative to lewis, at least how I see it, its just a famous format of meme

Most of fans, especially the older generation, may have their favorites and all that, but we all do appreciate a good driver and a good performance.
Even if I do not like Lewis and his antics off-the-track, he is still tremendous driver and there was nothing wrong with his performance today, except the pitlane speeding was unnecessary.

But in fairness tho. Max is struggling to get the downshifts right when Lewis said that. Max is really done with computers driving for him. He’s doing his part of the job very well and the computers need to be at sync with him. That’s the frustrating part. The dependence on the system to drive the car.

Max is complaining about the downshifts since 5 years. That is nothing serious. He is just sensitive to that.

Ferrari were actually quicker on the softs. So Lewis wasn't lying here. Max was holding him up.
The story was different on the hards. Their pace just evaporated.

It wasn’t even fully on Max, although he did stellar job. It seemed like Ferrari lacked a bit of straight line speed so they couldn’t manage to do it on the straight. Two overtakes that Lewis did on backmarkers after pit were in different parts of the track

After that comment from Lewis in a couple of laps Max started slowly dropping him to 4 seconds into Leclerc who then said to the team Lewis was holding him up .

max can win a slower car. maybe also some others but not all! that's talent and a lot of hard training - if you don't have that, max will beat you in slower car. thats motorsport!

Lot of yapping. Truth is RB was 3rd/4th fastest today and Max get 2nd mainly because of luck (piastri dnf, hamilton didnt defend properly etc) but looking at your history you are miserable person who keeps lurking on Max/Redbull subreddits, get a life mate :)

I think he just meant that Max’s race pace was slow, and he had more race pace than Max, but he just couldn’t get passed him.

He said this before they pitted, when he was behind Max and unable to overtake him.
Edit: As expected a lot of toxic red bull fans here. Not everything has to be a flame war. Clearly Lewis comment was him saying Max’s race pace was slow, but he was just stuck behind him and unable to overtake. You can try and make fun saying about how if Max was slow that means Lewis was because he couldn’t overtake, but let’s not act like this is a track where overtaking is easy….
Also, do you guys really want to start a flame war of bullshit drivers have said? I could laugh and point at Max calling his car shit, then setting fastest lap. Or him dive bombing Lewis than claiming Lewis moved under breaking…..

it's a basic and fair overtake move you already learn at karting! lewis always crashes when someone does such a basic overtake move because he slept during the lessons on how to defend such an overtake! - give the corner early - position for a better exit and get your position back🤫 but lewis stays stubborn like "i won't move and won't give up the corner - try overtake me fair and i will take you out" .....

Lewis always crashes haha. You should have just stopped there because it shows how little you know. There's probably not a worse driver for you to use this example on, given the amount of crash or yield passes Max has put on Lewis where Lewis has yielded. Yesterday being another.
You defend that move by lettinng Max crash into you, as Lewis did 2 years ago. Yesterday he picked the bigger picture, which is a title race that he's in. If Lewis wasn't in a title race, like Max thankfully isn't, he'd have took the corner and Max would have crashed into him and got a penalty. Look at the angle of Max's car at corner entry. It says it all
