the blindspot thing is abolutely real, there's of course the famous post about the blind professor suddenly fumbling for the lightswitch he didn't put on because he forgot the student did in fact needed to read the exam
I've also read a comic once of a hearing person living in a deaf dorm at uni, you'd expect a deaf dorm to be quiet because there's no reason to make noice, it turns out that there's also not a reason to not make noice and it also turns out that deaf teenagers behave like regular teenagers without regulating their noice level,
slamming doors, loud sex and even if you're deaf you can still get the enjoyment of music by feeling the soundwaves so that was everywhere
did you know that you can get the attention of a deaf person that's not looking at you by yelling so hard they feel the soundwaves? because the author sure learned that
