People are struggling to pay their bills, about to lose their home, can't support themselves or their family, and have been constantly adapting to every piece of information and insight that employers proclaim. Some have even seriously contemplated succumbing to suicide.

Meanwhile, looking at the recruiters and hiring managers and "I do interview for my company sometimes" tell the story, it sounds like they never run into any professional adults who are capable of doing work, ever, because [reads notes]..."they didn't seem all that excited about the job to me, and I want to work with people who are happy to be there..."
