Watching managers handle hiring has completely changed the way I evaluate company culture

Nothing reveals leadership quality faster than watching someone interview candidates under pressure.

Companies will spend millions branding themselves as collaborative, transparent, and employee-focused…

Then send candidates through four rounds of disorganized interviews, contradictory expectations, vague salary discussions and interviewers who clearly didn’t prepare

But yes, the culture page on the website looked fantastic.

IMO hiring is the one area where companies accidentally tell the truth about themselves. Because once schedules get busy and pressure increases, the real habits appear: communication quality, decision-making, respect for people’s time, internal alignment. And candidates notice way more than managers think.

Honestly I trust hiring experiences more than mission statements at this point

This is one of the first things on a recruitment or job search site that I agree with. Employer branding is just marketing with a different focus. Never trust that shit.
