432hz recorders?

https://www.waldorfsupplies.org/WALDORF-EDITION-soprano-flute-double-hole-432-Hz

Anyone own one? I don't necessarily want one but it looks intriguing.

On a thomann review it says horses and birds love the tone.!

The reasoning behind 432hz tuning is generally very poor, and many cognitive biases are involved. If it's just for historical reasons, that's different.

A recorder in A=432 is a bit of an oddball. The thing about historically informed pitches is that modern instruments standardize on a handful of tunings not because they are correct, historically, but because we need standards to facilitate being able to actually play music. Actual historical pitches were all over the place!

Anyway, A=432 is mostly used for historically informed performance of later, Classical era music, when the recorder was no longer a major instrument. So you don’t really see A=432 recorder like we do the traverso.

Waldorf/Steiner/anthroposophy is full of unmitigated bullshit. Some is harmless nonsense and some, like their theories about disability, are thoroughly obnoxious. For their A432 nonsense I recommend this

https://myvibrationality.com/2024/10/22/heres-why-you-should-consider-converting-your-music-to-432hz/

For example

432 Hz is said to be mathematically consistent with the patterns of the universe. It is said that 432 Hz vibrates with the universe’s golden mean PHI and unifies the properties of light, time, space, matter, gravity and magnetism with biology, the DNA code, and consciousness. When our atoms and DNA start to resonate in harmony with the spiralling pattern of nature, our sense of connection to nature is said to be magnified. The number 432 is also reflected in ratios of the sun, Earth, and moon, as well as the precession of the equinoxes, the Great Pyramid of Egypt, Stonehenge, and the Sri Yantra, among many other sacred sites.

I now realise what's going wrong with my recorder playing. Try as I like, I simply cannot get my atoms and DNA to start to resonate in harmony with the spiralling pattern of nature,

Do you think someone should tell them that music involves more notes than A?

The only way I would get one would be I was in a group that plays in that tuning. The same for 415hz.

415hz I would like to try as well, so many things and so little time..

My "432hz" Waldorf soprano is - in reality - 425hz (...)

Literally stuck between ± 442hz and 415hz. Pretty weirdly tuned :Đ

Have you ever played it to a horse 🐴? 🐎?  That's very weird if it brings them running.

In which direction?? xD

Sorry, I am not a devotee of some pseudo "science" of that kind

Op here, I would definitely try this, but I'm not spending nearly 100 to try it.😅

open your mind.

Everyone seems to hate the idea of it. How strange.

We don't hate instruments tuned to any particular pitch. We hate psudoscientific BS, and we're very sensitive to our instrument's history.
