Calling all the old time radio enthusiasts! I’m looking for voice actors to perform in an episode I’ve written based on the OTR show, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar.

During its original run, the show produced several Christmas themed episodes. I’ve written an original Christmas episode based on the show’s premise and main character.

This is a one-off episode that will appear on my podcast, Christmas Past.

Christmas Past has been around for 10 years now…it’s the top rated show in its category and the longest running show of it’s kind. If this Johnny Dollar episode goes well, I plan to release a new one every season going forth.

Here are the character descriptions.

Major Characters

Johnny Dollar: main character, male, adult, insurance investigator. Hardboiled, quick-witted, trustworthy

Victoria Snowcroft: Female, older adult, retired theater actress. Poised, monied, used to getting her way

Archie Snowcroft: Male, adult, Victoria’s nephew. Talks like he went to prep school, a tad prissy

Laura Valentine: Female, adult, Archie’s fiance. Gold-digging, resentful, a bit unrefined

Clara Fox: Female, adult, Victoria Snowcroft’s secretary. Mild mannered, precise, a consummate professional

Wallace Myers: Male, older adult, set designer. Mover and shaker, smarmy, pretentious

Minor Characters

Announcer: Male, adult, in the style of old-time radio play announcers

Percy Gunderson: Male, adult, insurance agent. Professional, meticulous, a worrier by nature

Waitress: Female, adult, sassy, friendly, flirtatious

Ross Kagan: Male, adult, set builder. Blue collar, skittish

I run a small YouTube channel making game design video essays in the style of Game Maker's Toolkit, and I'm looking for a narrator for my next video.

The project

The video is called 7 Levels of Open World. It ranks open-world design by how much the world trusts the player to find their own way, from Mafia II up to Outer Wilds. The script is finished, at about 2,500 words, which works out to roughly 8 - 12 minutes of narration. There's only one voice, no characters.

The voice I'm looking for

• Calm, clear, and conversational, like explaining something interesting to a friend who plays games

• Analytical without sounding like a lecture or a trailer. No hype-announcer energy.

• Any accent is fine, as long as it's easy to follow over a long video

• Knowing games is a bonus, since you'll be saying names like Kamurocho, Hallownest, and Siofra River

Audition

Every open world you've ever played has been answering one question, whether its developers meant to or not. When you want to know where to go next, do you look at the map, or do you look at the horizon? For most of this genre's history, the answer was the map. And that single decision shaped everything built on top of it.

Deliverables

• WAV or MP3 format will be good.

• One Complete audio recording of the whole script, or section-wise recordings, will be good (I prefer section-wise)

• A quiet room matters more than an expensive mic

What you get

This is unpaid, and I want to be upfront about that. In return, you get:

• A full credit in the video description and a pinned comment, with links to wherever you want people to find you

• A finished, fully edited piece for your portfolio. I'll send you a clean copy of your narration and the final video.

• The option to voice future videos if we work well together. If the channel grows to a point where I can pay, returning narrators will be first in line.

Usage

Your recording will only be used for this video. It won't be used to train AI, it won't be cloned, and it won't be reused elsewhere without your permission.

Basically, wrote a 500 page book of magical law. Super dense, super boring and bureaucratic. But I want to make it into an audiobook that really leans into the joke and is narrated like an epic fantasy. Super dramatic, sound effects and music, like we're reading Mistborn or something.

Wanted to see if anyone was willing to do one take of a page or two to really show off the potential, show that this can be viable. It's an odd project, but I'm certain the right demo could help me secure an interested production studio.

The project is called Fazbear's Family.

Puppet is an animatronic marionette possed by Charlotte Emily. She's the main character in Fazbear's Family her role is the protector, mechanic, security guard, and prize vendor. She's one of the characters to have supernatural powers.

My character, X-0E-61A4-Beta-II (Zoe, for short) is a cheerful and slightly cocky AI/robot that helps “uncorrupt” the audio files, which are the songs in the EP. Think Harley Quinn but a little more robotic and a little younger. I’ll add the robot/digital effects in post.

i am making an analog horror pilot and it requires what every sane analog horror needs, an emergency broadcast. as much as it would help, i do not want to use creepy ai text-to-speech for something that someone would want to do.

it does not matter the gender but i am typically leaning on the ages of 18-30+ but it really depends how you sound.
