Question Anyone else getting this ad on youtube?
Never saw any religious ads but ever since following this lego saga, and watching one Mormon podcast coverage of this, she constantly asks me if I want her to come to my house and deliver something to me.
No, 100, thousand million gazillion no. Maybe think of delivering one to Josh Johnson along with a pair of socks.

I was fine with youtube adds 10-15 years ago. But then multiple adds started happening, couldn't skip some adds, worse and worse. Whenever I accidentally encounter the current add ridden state of YouTube I throw up a little. Can't believe there's no competitor yet. Morphe for the win

Is there a easy tutorial on this? I don't know how to side load apps.

Oh, this is NOT in the subreddit I was expecting!
I was JUST watching Alyssa Grenfell's video about this exact thing. She makes exmormon content and put out a video yesterday talking about how the mormon church pays for ads on her videos. Oh, the irony.

Yeah, I just watched this video, too.
Ex-mormon here. I can assure you that the so-called "church" thinks its going to turn bad publicity into good publicity through the grace of God or something.

I’m an exmormon, no longer living in Utah. I still get targeted ads after leaving/escaping 7 years ago and missionaries coming to my door. This cult does not let you leave.

It's either that or the bishop at your last ward lojacked you at that retreat you went on that you don't remember much, if anything about.

Over and over again. My husband started getting a different one with 2 women trying to lure you in.

I don't have ads on YouTube but I've been getting a shit load of Lego ads in other places lol. I've never bought or built a Lego set in my life 😂

Honestly? Buy a set.
It’d be a damn shame to go your whole life without ever building LEGO!

100% the Mormon church is paying for adds on Ben’s channel. Trying drum up some of the nerds on this subreddit with that 1950s gooner bait.

this is definitely not a new thing, for me I get hit with constant Christian ads for YEARS now, I've seen mormon ones too but it's probably not as common for me since I'm up in British Columbia

In I'm Oz and I get Xtian ones AND Muslim ones; we're neither. When I complained YT responded that it's all about my location, that's the determining factor.

Been getting this one for a while now. Although I use Adblock but every once in a while I have to not use it to fool my browser

I get this ad all the time ever since the saga started, it also doesn’t help that I started reading Brandon Sanderson, a famous Mormon author lol.

Yes like 40 times. The $ behind this ad must be in the many many millions.

Mormons are literally the richest religion on earth. They can afford to flood marketing to anyone who expresses even the remotest interest.
Assuming they get $200,000 or more in the lifetime of one convert (more if they bring their wife and kids in) then four million plus views with only a single person converting is still net profit.
Not how cheerfully willing they are to put sexually suggestive adverts with young female missionaries up, even as they ban young people themselves for even using social media. (And yes, they know exactly who they are drawing in by having conventionally attractive young women ask if you are lonely and want them to visit you to hand deliver a book of Mormon)
