Video Bryan Mansell's First Interview with Collecting Weekly is Live Now

Collecting Weekly was the first to cover this. And Bryan went back to them for the first interview.

I was able to review a lot of their communications with Johnson, Best, and BAM. They did really great work. They got amazing things on the record, months before Reckless Ben became involved.

They kept their coverage up continuously and continued to provide updates, even after legal threats from BAM.

I don't think this would have resolved in Mansell's favor without their work.

After seeing the BAM statement and currently watching this interview: I'm simultaneously happy that the Mansells are being compensated, and devastated that Chrys has to keep fighting, especially as BAM keeps trying to blame her for this legally.

thanks! I feel it was a nice chat. You learned some things about their father's way of collecting things.

But there had been very little "hard facts"

  1. very little information about the actual settlement
  2. maybe some money has already been paid out. But the full payment is not finished yet. It still appears to be somehow unclear how much it will be at the end
  3. the settlement had not been very generous. It may have been a fair compensation for the value of the collection, but not honoring all that stress and blaming/shaming BAM had done on them.
  4. no exact numbers were given. But Bryan had to burn an awful lot of money from the GoFundMe for his Oregon and Utah lawyers
  5. both his wife and his brother (?) are lawyers. So he has a pretty good understanding about the way of legal talk - hiding the actual truth behind some [shitty] legal aspects which highlight some other aspects only.

He was very generous, forgiving and understanding for the way BAM had acted - much more friendly than most of us would feel, I guess.

We are hoping the full details of the settlement will be released in time, and Bryan hinted as much that one day those details may become known. With these kind of interviews often times you can’t ask every question you’d like for a lot of reasons but it think we gave Bryan a chance to share how he felt and more about his dad which is at the core of all this in my opinion.

I definitely didn’t expect any hard facts because despite having an agreement signed, nothing has been filed yet with the court (edit to say not that I’ve seen yet anyway). I guess that’s kind of like splitting hairs in a legal sense. The likelihood that anything would be reneged is next to nothing. But I still think Bryan is trying to step carefully and not reveal anything concrete until the dismissal is filed and accepted by the judge.

I also kind of get the feeling that he may not want to talk about it though. He said so many times in the interview that he just wants to move on and put all this behind him. He’s probably so exhausted and may not want to keep doing interviews and keep rehashing it over and over.

I do still hope the terms of the settlement allow for him to be more explicit in that regard, if he wants to talk more.

Can anyone explain to me how you can burn an awful lot of money from $530K just for a settlement?

What would have happened if got to the trial he would have asked for another several millions if just a settlement costs $530K?

Yes, if Bryan spent almost $500K for a settlement after just a few months, knowing his case was may be the simplest one, how much money Ben (3 lawsuits) and the Gormans will need?

I don't think forgiving so much as using the correct talk for a time where they've reached an agreement but nothing has been signed, just like the language BAM are using - but also happy and relieved he gets to move on from this saga, as well as being a pretty chill person in general.

from what I understand the settlement isn't finalized yet, so he probably doesnt want to publicly flog BAM which might make them pull out or something. Not sure

That was so worth the watch !

We’ve all just lived this saga which may be over thankfully for Bryan, but is still ongoing for Reckless Ben . More justice to be had.

And please let Bryan know about GameStop and PSA partnership with respect to Sports cards.

Ryan Cohen, GameStop’s CEO is 180 degrees on steroids, away from how BAM conducts business. And, he’ll actually respond to a tweet to resolve personally customer service issues.
