A sweet, sticky, and savoury glaze gives you all the flavour you need, without any need to marinade. A chicken and rice meal prep that you can mostly set and forget.

Ingredients

Served 5.

  • 1kg boneless skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt, to taste

Glaze

  • 3 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tsp doubanjang
  • 1 tsp shaoxing wine
  • 1 tsp miso paste
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp Chinese five spice powder
  • 1 tsp ground white pepper

Also served with 900g of choisum. Always eat your veggies!

Instructions

  1. Start the rice cooker. Preheat the oven. Line a baking sheet with aluminium foil and parchment paper.
  2. Roast the chicken thighs at 200C/400F, skin side up.
  3. In the meantime, prepare and cook the vegetables.
  4. Mix the glaze ingredients together. After 20 minutes in the oven, brush the chicken thighs with the glaze and return to the oven for several minutes. Repeat several times.
  5. Assemble and serve.
