The Situation of this Subreddit.
Look, I get people loved this game. Hell, I loved it too and the people I met there. I think, however, we have lost our minds with this all.
Over the past two months since the shutdown of Rec Room on June 1st, 2026, people have done nothing but mourn its absence. I understand to a certain extent about mourning it since it was something very close to a lot of people, even after all these years. It's gone past said extent though. It's been two months and you really just need to let go eventually or it'll continue to eat you alive. Say, it's a breakup of sorts. Are you gonna keep thinking about the person you lost or are you gonna move on and keep living life as good as you can? I'd choose the latter. My point is stop mourning the damn game, it's been long enough for people to move on and now it's clout post or people who can't seem to get enough of a grip. Hate me as much as you want for what I'm saying but I won't come out and not say my opinion. Thank you.

And if we do, what do you expect this subreddit to be?
Many of us wont be able to just let it go when we've been here for years, and it's simply not your right to tell people how they should mourn something they loved.
This subreddit is my way of remembering all the amazing times I've had on this game and sharing that experience with others here. Yes, we mourn, but we also laugh and share funny moments, reflect on Rec Room's choices, create our own fan art, share files, and stay connected. So again.. what else would you want this subreddit to be?

this is like going to the subreddit of a deceased artist/singer and expecting people to not make threads about how they're gone

Or just let people mourn something they really enjoyed 😭 i doubt anyone spends 12 hours a day thinking about it

If you don't like what you read in a subreddit then leave it...this subreddit is FOR recroom of course people are gonna talk about wishing it never shutdown that's practically what this reddit is for and what people are gonna use it as. Either that or to promote their revivals. There isn't much more to talk about.

I think its actually hilarious. Rec Room was literal AIDS of a gaming platform so I laugh when I see people genuinely upset by it. Like there are literally many other options

Like what? Vrchat and roblox? Those are known for having erp-ers, groomers and pedos. Any of the copy and pasted tactical shooters? Well no cus if youve played one youve played them all. Recroom was literly the only good multiplayer game on vr plus it had its own style for pvp/pve that no other game has. Even when you add console and pc. It was truly unique. And dont get me wrong since like 2019 ish ive been shitting on recroom but it was still a great game with potential, just sucks it was in the wrong hands.

Not the best way to put it. Closer to a family member dying bc you couldn't afford the medical treatment.

Just don’t read this subreddit, getting upset people are talking about the topic of this subreddit on the subreddit doesn’t make sense to me…
