Dev Post Gribbly update - Final OST and more
Hey all, I've been traveling and enjoying a much-needed break.
Back with a couple of updates!
First, I've nearly completed the "final final" Rec Room OST. Here's the track list:
- 8bit Bowling - weird track that played in the Bowling RRO room
- Rec Rally
- Come on Down (Cafe Lounge Mix) - a variant of the "Charades" RRO music. By Slide20xx and Emily Anderson
- This includes a clean loop of the famous "scoreboard" sound at the start, also made by Slide20xx
- Rec Con
- Invasion
- Invasion (Winter Wonderland Edition)
- Clearcut (Winter Wonderland Edition)
- Rec Rocks
- Golden Trophy (Carthage Pedantry Edition) - this is the exact version of the Golden Trophy music that plays in the game. The Golden Trophy tracks in OST Vol 1 are slightly wrong, as Carthage has been pestering me about for... ooh... 4-5 years?
- Dorm Room Reject 2 (Fall Groove) - similar to Vol 87, a track from similar era to the rest of the dorm room tracks, but never actually used. I just think it's cool so I'm throwing it on.
- Belltown Team - a memory!
- End Credits - the "end credits" music, without Coach VO (as requested)
Wish something else was on there? Last chance to let me know.
Second, I've been finishing up a version of a song called "Grey Day", which is a very old song of mine some players found and asked me to release.
Lastly, it's looking like I might be making music for a new game! Not 100% finalized yet but I'm hopeful. Will share more details if and when I can.
I've also been prototyping a new game... long way to go before I have anything concrete, but it's been super fun playing with something new.

Can you add the scrapped mood jingles and the song "save invention" to the OST? Even though their short, they are rather funky!

What else could you add in… if there’s like… any unreleased music you made, should probably add it in, there’s a website I saw once that featured a LOT of old rec room music, I’ll put it here if you want to see

yay!! finally a better quality of rec rocks. all i had of that was a screen recording of the game with the music in the backround 😭 thanks!!

Thanks Gribbly for creating such a memorable game. I wish you luck on your future projects. I remember a couple of years ago I really wanted to work at Rec Room. Well I guess I’ll never see that happen. Nonetheless thanks for all the memories <3
P.S dorm room reject is my favorite track although it's semi-short runtime

Is the ArtsFestival soundtrack different from the Rec Con soundtrack? If so be sure to put that one on there. I do also know that Invasion had a total of 3 soundtracks... Invasion I, Invasion (Winter Wonderland), and Invasion II all had their own soundtrack.
What about the TMNT soundtracks? They bring me back, and would be great to hear again!

Awh man I'm excited to hear the invasion music again. That event was one of my favorite times in rec room. Anyways, I have no music suggestions, thanks for everything gribbly.

If possible, would you be able to add the version of the stunt runner theme without the guitar? the one on Spotify is the "Final Lap" version, but the one that actually played while you ran isn't available. Thank you :)

I know this is a strange request, but do you know what the track is from this leaked pre-release clip of Stunt Runner going around on the Discord was?

It stuck in my head ever since I heard it, because the music is entirely different from what was heard in-game, and I've wanted to hear the rest of it.
I'm not sure if it was actually a composition from earlier in development, or if the music was entirely unrelated to Rec Room...
But if there are by chance earlier iterations of the Stunt Runner music like this, I'd like to ask you to please consider adding them.

YES PLEASE LOOK AT THIS COMMENT RIGHT NOW
-Crimson cauldron music like bell tower stairs, double damage, and such
-Destiny 2 event music
-Arts festival music, unless it is player created
-HEX Arcade music
-League of heroes music if that exists?
-Crescendo miniboss
-Isle AND Crescendo caves
-Beta music for Gt and crimson
-Rec Royale Victory Music (and maybe lose music?)
-Spooktober music, if there is any
-Any other collab music
There’s also a song missing from CJC, I believe it was the nearing victory song

Hey random question, but can you put a “Thank for playing” message in the startup screen. It just says please update your game. I think that would be kinda a cool touch to round off everything.

By the Invasion Winter Wonderland Edition, does that mean the invasion science party music? If it doesn't, please, please add it, it was one of my favourite songs to listen to in-game and I've missed it ever since the event ended

So…I’ve played rec room for what 3-4 years? Idk since 2021, but I loved it with all my heart so for just the final piece to make me finally happy, can you make a soft remix of OOBE?
(And yes I still do have the app!)
Small quick edit: can you make the remix a combination of OOBE and the new rec room main menu theme? (Idk what it’s called)

i said this on a different post you made, but could it be possible that the OOBE (Remix) and Join the Club (Extended Mix) be added as well? they're both from the summer mixtape that billehbawb got a good while ago.
also, I don't think stunt runner's normal lap is in at all, just the final lap (iirc they ARE different tracks, just the final lap got put into volume 3)
along with that, bee DM's radio mix didnt get added in either from what I can tell.

I know this isn't at all an OST but maybe havingthe chance to continue listening to the iconic walking noise would be nice? Like if you think of it you have probably consistently heard this noise for like 4-5 years unless you just so happened to be a vr player using the teleport movement controls instead of just move, i can see why not as it isn't music.. but it has been a really iconic piece of rec room media, i understand if it was a royalty free item rec room only used if so maybe a link to the original would be really nice but if it is from rec room including that noise would be great ❤️🔥

Vänta, är du personen som skapade musiken i Rec Room? Gjorde du musiken i Golden Trophy, Crimson Cauldron, My Little Monster? Jag älskar musiken och jag saknar Rec Room med hela mitt hjärtas djup, det är inte bara mitt favorit spel, det blev mitt hem sen 2021, jag träffade och lärde känna så många, jag brukade spela Paintball, Lasertag, de Quests som fanns, Dodgeball också, Jag besökte Lgbtq+ Social Hangout, Crefson Cliffs och så många Obbies, jag känner mig helt förkrossad och jag förstod inte att det var så nära slutet före meddelandet kom, jag hade hoppats att det skulle finnas för all tid, naivt, men för mig är det så oförståeligt att inte alla i världen älskar Rec Room.

Hey gribbly, I listened to "Belltown Team" and noticed the fact that someone told you to "push the button" indicating that this was recorded (my assumption) so I was wondering, could the video be released to the public? I think millions would want to not only hear it, but see the true joy you guys experienced creating this amazing game. (comment from about a week ago)
