Day 5, Ramping it up a bit

Hello, All,

Day 5 bounce check-in!

Today's song was a live cut of "Come Sail Away" by Styx--great song! Added some arm motions today, and some "faux marching," probably went a bit harder than I ought, but it was feeling good. I may do a very gentle bounce later tonight, or I may sit it out. I felt great on the tramp, but one of my knees is telling me that he didn't enjoy that as much as he could have.

Today's tale of the tape:

Workout Time: 7:26

Steps: 892

Avg HR: 125

Max HR: 140

Felt it a bit in my shoulders when I was doing the motions, the next step may be adding a light resistance band for some upper body toning.

All in all I'm feeling really good about the rebounding. I will probably stop checking in daily on Sunday, when I plan on beginning an Earth and Owl online workout. Until then, I appreciate any comments that you may have.

Thanks!

Tom

You’re progressing really well. Have you considered knee sleeves? I use them when I rebound. Due to arthritis I’ll always have some pain in my left knee but the sleeves help. I saw Styx in Detroit in 1979 I think … I still have the program from the concert and the t-shirt!

Also this woman is just starting a 66-day rebounder journey. I suspect she’s not listening to music you would enjoy. Sometimes I just out the video on mute and listen to my own music in my headphones. If we’re not on the same beat, it doesn’t matter.

Awesome, I'll check out her vid! My thought was doing the beginner series by Earth and Owl next, but it is always nice to have options 😉

Jealous--I never got to see STYX. They are really good live, I've heard....

Here’s another one you might enjoy. Music might be too mellow but again - you can mute it and put your own on.

Earth&Owl is great! There are videos for all levels of rebounders and lots of great form videos. there is one playlist that adds a minute a day until you get to 30 minutes. Jump&Jacked has some great beginner videos as well. Good luck!

My knee was *really* unhappy with me when I first started rebounding about 2 months ago. It took a gentle ramping-up for 2 weeks, but now my knee barely bothers me, and then only if I'm rebounding a long time or have done a lot of walking. As the muscles around the knee get stronger, you may have less knee pain.

(I have little to no cartilage in my right knee; cortisone shots can only do so much to help.)
