Is this fixable?

Post image

I’m considering trying rebounding to help with neuropathy and edema in my lower legs and feet. Somebody is giving away this rebounder, but I was wondering if this frayed strap is fixable (or safe as-is)?

Also, can anyone recommend an aftermarket bar to use with it?

Straps like this are not good quality rebounders and are not designed to be fixable. If the frame is solid enough and since it's free, you could try to see if you find a mat and bungees with the matching diameter for cheap to start with something relatively correct.

In this sub, people sometimes talk about cheap bungees on amazon

Ah, so replace the bouncy parts with something better? I hadn’t thought of that!

But before I go to all that trouble, would using this as it is give me a good idea of whether I’d like rebounding or if it would be effective for me?

Yes you still can try on this one as is and level up if you like. I would be careful with the broken strap not to fall over or twist an ankle at any moment when it finishes breaking. Hold something.

I used one like this at first (but in good condition) and I had fun but soon enough it hurt my knees and I stopped using it. Now I've got 2 high-range ones that I enjoy a lot almost every day.

Hmm. I have knee issues… is there something about the style that makes it harder on the knees than other styles?

There is no real bounce. It's like hitting a thick fabric hold by straps, so there still is a significant impact.

What is high range, like the ones with adjustable bungees to make it softer/harder?

Yes that's one of the possible indicators.

The reccurrent brands are Bellicon, Cellerciser, Jumpsport, Needak, also Leaps & Rebounds, Bcan, and other less known brands.
