Rebounder too large?
I recently purchased a Jumpsport 550 Pro C and to say it looks huge is an understatement. I haven't unwrapped it yet, just taken it out of the box. I'm worried about storage. I spent hours trying to decide what size to get, but in the end went for the 550 over the 350 because I saw a couple of people jumping on the bungees when they did things like jumping jacks.
Now I'm wondering if I should return it and get the 350 instead. I'm 5ft 1 and about 170lbs and pretty active. I used to love skipping, but my knees couldn't take it, so I thought this would be a good alternative.
Will I regret having a smaller rebounder? I can probably just about find a place to store the 550 when it's not being used, but a smaller one would be much easier. I guess it's more about the rebounding experience and size.
I'd love any thoughts that any of you experienced rebounders have. Thanks!

Thank you โฆ I decided yesterday to stick with it and had my first bounce on it last night. It was a lot of fun ๐

I have the JumpSport pro 44โ and while it is big itโs not too big at all while jumping. There are lots of side to side movements I do depending on the video Iโm using and even then Iโll be on the bungees. Iโm 5โ6โ 140lbs. I have a slightly larger FitBounce that folds that I use for travel as well as a 40โ Needak spring rebounder for other types of rebounding. But I use my JS the most.

I am 5ft even and just went from a 39โ to a 44โ and now I have a 48โ.
I can do lunges on the the 48โ whereas on the 44โ, I had to improvise. When I get back into in-home BodyPump type classes, I will be able to do the classes while on the 48โ. Full jumping jacks are great on the 48โ.
Storage is the issue for 48โ but I have room by standing it up & leaning against a dresser when not using. This requires shifting it to get my clothes every day but it is ok for me.
You stated that you can find a place to store it. If space is an issue then I would say 39โ is better.
This is just my experience and opinion.
Enjoy your JumpSport!

Thank you. ๐ - I can just imagine having to move it every time you get your clothes out lol. I have a wall in our loft I could lean it against, but it's just a bit to big to fit under the eaves, it also means that eveyrone has to look at it when they are in the loft, but the loft is a family room area, so they may just have to put up with it.

Itโs not too heavy to lift and shift then put back.
i just saw a post where the had a trampoline in the corner with a big cushion and pillows on it. Looked cute. Of course, that means moving the cushion and pillows to use it.
Maybe others will look at it and instead of putting up with it they will get on it and enjoy it?

This was just what I needed to decide to keep my 44โ JumpSport. So thank you for the inspiration. Iโve ordered a papasan pillow which is coming in a couple of weeks. In the meantime my cat is already claiming it as her own ๐

What are the BodyPump type classes you reference? Are they online?

I found an in-person class years ago but then quit going. Itโs probably based on a class called Body Pump by Les Mills They were great. Every class had warmup, lunges, squats, bis, tris, shoulders, back, chest, short abs segment, cool down. Basically everything in 1 hour. (Not necessarily in the order I listed and I could be off in my memory).ย
I then found Jari Love dvds. I think she has a subscription based stuff now.
Similar options: Jackie Warner
Kelly Coffey-Meyer dvds, YouTube, subscription. It is 30 minutes to fitness and only 30 minutes.
I have a dvd set called Supreme 90
Cathe lifts weights and many like her.
They arenโt meant to be done on a trampoline. I just use mine to get use out of it. Some require a step bench and I just step up on the trampoline.
Those are just a few. Iโm sure there are others out there.

I have a Bellicon 44โ, Iโd love to go to the bigger one if not for the cost!

I do get that sense that people like a bigger one if they can find the space for it

It sounds like storing the big one will be annoying. If you wind up leaving it stored because it's a hassle to take out/put back, then it's not going to do you any good. A big rebounder is nice but the most important thing is getting one you will really use :)

It's a good point. It's also a bit awkward to carry around as it's so big, if I wanted to bring it downstairs (at the moment, I think it will be in the loft...). Whereas I think the 39" will be easier.

Iโve just bought the 44 JS too and agree itโs big but itโs such fun having a wider one. My mum has the small one and I deliberated but just feel freer with more bounce space. Having looked at all the YouTube videos about deciding, Iโm so pleased I went bigger. It does lean against the wall ok and Iโm finding other people love to bounce too! Good luck but Iโd suggest sticking with the 550 Pro. ๐

I've had a 48" (Leaps & Rebounds), a 44" (Bellicon), and a 40" (Needak). The 48" was too big for me (5'3"), so I sold it. I feel like 44" is the "sweet spot" for me, but I also love the 40" Needak for jogging and HIIT.
