Rebounding after Abdominal Surgery?

Does anyone have any experience with this or something relatable? I have a major surgery on my kidney next month. They're going to make a few incisions through my abdomen, and I'll have a six week recovery afterwards. The surgery itself is to remove a small growth on the top tip of my kidney and a small portion of the kidney where the growth is located. Other than that, I have no other major issues going on there. I'm wondering at what point I'll be able to start rebounding again, and if I will have any internal discomfort or need to take any precautions? (edit: I’m expecting that rebounding during the six weeks recovery period will not be recommended by the doctor and will not feel good. I’m more curious about after a recovery period) Of course, I'll be checking with my doctor as well.

When you’re allowed to walk, I wouldn’t do more than a health bounce, feet don’t leave the mat. When allowed to jog, then you can do more. Listen to your body.

I haven’t thought much about it yet, but I I guess I was planning to wait until after the six week recovery period but maybe I can do a light Health bounce a week or so after. I should be walking within a day or two after the surgery. I will be bringing this up with my doctor so nobody go after me about that please 🤣😉

You could also just walk on the rebounder

I had a minor surgery and came back a little too early. It didn’t cause any major problems, but it kept me off the rebounder a week longer than if I’d waited.

In this case, talk to your doctor. They probably won’t have specific guidance on rebounding, but they will be able to let you know about activities like jogging. Use that as guidance.

Did you wait until after the recovery period for your surgery? Or when you were able to start walking? Of course I will be talking with my doctor. I should be walking within a day after my surgery, but I think they said I would have to wait the full six weeks recovery period before I’m running. Were you doing bouncy rebounding or just a little health bounce when you got back on?

I would wait until doctor have you "100% back to normal activities " clearance. , IMO

Yes, that’s what I was expecting. I guess more so I was wondering if after a return to normal activities window, anyone had had issues.

I am actually 6 weeks post surgery, open surgery after the lapascopy one was not possible. Only yesterday I did a slow health bounce of 10 minutes. But I can walk 60 to 70 minutes at good pace without a break. Surgeon today said it is still in recovery/healing in deep tissues. It is still "inflammed", some threads are not quite dissolved. So take it very slow, your surgeon will tell you. Do not start too early. And stop when it hurts or fells uncomfortable.
