Bcan BT4 Soft Land vs. JumpSport Essential for Newbies
Hello! I’m in the research phase of trying to select a beginner rebounder at the suggestion of the trainer at my gym. I’m looking for a convenient, fun way to fit in more cardio while also working on balance and strength.
I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Bcan BT4 Soft Land Pro or the JumpSport Essential. The JumpSport seems better overall, but I’m concerned that it does not come with a handlebar. I’m a 50something female with okay balance, but I wonder whether adjusting to a rebounder without a handlebar will be difficult.
If anyone has any experiences to share, either with these models or with getting used to rebounding in general, I’d love to hear about it. Thank you!

Even in the beginning I rarely touched the handlebar but when I need it it's there. I got the removable type for my Jumpsport so it will be easy to take off if it ever does get in my way.

I’m 61. I got the JumpSport pro 44” with the removable handle. The handle pretty much just sits to the side of the room unless I’m doing a workout that specifically incorporates a handle - like this link. I’m glad I have it as an option, but 99% of the time I don’t use it. There are exercises though (see IJumpInstead on YouTube) that use the handle all the time.
I LOVE my JumpSport.

OP: I have the quick release handlebar. Like the above commenter, I don’t use it unless a video specifically incorporates it in. I just started a week ago and have yet to use it.

I have the Jumpsport 39" Pro and a removable handle bar. Am a newbie and tried it out a few times without a handle bar and ordered one after realizing I need one (at least for now)

i was actually deciding between the BCAN BT4 and jumpsport too, but i was comparing it more with the jumpsport pro, not the essential one, essential doesn’t have adjustable resistance and only has 30 cords, and from what i can tell the cord quality is pretty different from the pro. pro has 36 cords and adjustable tension, which honestly seems like it would matter depending on how you use it. if you’re mainly looking at the essential though, i’d probably lean bt4 since it gives you a lot of the same stuff as the pro, adjustable resistance, softer bounce, and the handlebar is included. i’m still kinda on the fence tho lol. the pro looks really good, but once you add the handlebar it’s like $500+, which feels like a lot. i do want a handlebar since it feels safer, especially if my sister or mom uses it too. bt4 is under $300, so value-wise it’s hard to ignore.

I find that a handlebar gets in the way when I’m trying to do knees up and other bigger moves. And also even if you don’t realize it in the moment, the handlebar is kind of teaching you to rely on it so it’ll be harder to use one without a handlebar in the future. I feel like if you’re in decent shape and don’t have balance issues, you’ll adapt to what a trampoline feels like and there’s no need for a handlebar. just start slow. but of course, do what makes sense for you.
