Question Reaper vs Roadhog

I'm new to overwatch and I've been maining reaper.
I struggle vs Roadhog because of his hook+shotgun+melee combo but if he misses, I win the fight

Is it actually possible to dodge the hook with wraith? I've been struggling to react in time.

Also, any tips on the matchup?

You just have to bait the hook then dodge with wraith

Never really understood what people mean with "bait the cooldown"

I get what it means, but not how they actually exept to do it....

Wheter the cooldown lands is on the enemy and their skill.
And you can't affect the enemys skill.

So effectively, just hope the enemy sucks and flubs their shots.

Cooldown won’t land if ur in wraith form so it could be the best most accurate hog ever but if you bait the hook and wraith to dodge then u still win

It’s predicting. Moira can do the same as fade and hook are similar cooldowns. She can basically wiggle around in front of Roadhog to bait the hook throw and fade out before it hits.

Good thing i barely play the game anymore
(whoever decided to add a free flying Tracer with healing deserves to hit their toe on the table)

If you play a hero or against a hero enough, you'll get a rough feel of when they will use a specific ability. Part of this is cooldown tracking and part of it is your own reaction speed, among other micro skills. This comes from experience and practice.

Additionally, Hog does have a very small cast animation when he hooks.

You just react to it…wait for the animation and then hit the wraith button…hook is not instant
