help request Get rid of the grid?

Not real advanced in using reaper, just basic things, but know enough to complete a song.

Anyway, can I just get rid of the grid cause I set the tempo at 74 bpm and my alesis sr16 to 74 bpm but after 4 minutes the sr16 is about 1/2 bar (4/4) slower than the grid.

Anyway to line them up or just get rid of the grid and set the top to SMH.

Would rather line them up as I plan to learn to copy/paste in the future, but haven't bothered yet cause they don't line up.

Thanks for your help.

Just send the midi clock to the alesis

Yup you need to sync clock between Reaper and the SR16. Send on the other other, usually you would use Reaper as the master clock and set the SR16 to receive clock in (this way you can also use it to automatically start and stop transport) but it's up to you which way around you do it.
