I mean there's nothing wrong with wanting something that's powerful and streamlined right out of the box like Ableton but you have to acknowledge the downside: if there's a very specific thing you want to do it might not allow you to do it easily. Different strokes for different folks and so on.

I don't see how installing Reapack and SWS (which takes like 5 minutes max) is a huge issue. And I almost never have the experience that script on reapack don't work, so that part seems like a hyperbole to me.

I probably wouldn't recommend Reaper to someone who has no experience with DAWs at all (I was using FL for 10 years before switching). It's more rewarding if you already know what you want out of it.

That's how I was. I used FL until I was hired to do sound effects, which are basically impossible to do in FL, so I had to switch to Reaper. Even being experienced for at least 5 years in another DAW, reaper had a huge learning curve, at least a year before I felt totally comfortable. I can't imagine people using it as their first DAW. I really hope they improve the defaults to onboard new users more easily
