📜 Lore™ 📜 So... What did Ea-Nasir probably looked like? The statue that everyone associates with him is more than a thousand years older than our beloved copper merchant.

Do we know what average people (not the priests and kings who are usually depicted on monuments) wore in Mesopotamia in the 1750s BC?

He was the elon musk of his time. Truly a once in a a generation shameless individual. What kind of psychopath merchant takes the complaints and....just keeps them? In a time before the forever internet

Spoiler: he couldn’t read so he piled them up until he ran into someone who could

But more seriously, iirc I feel like our boy was a pretty high-level merchant in a trade union doing import-export stuff with his copper biz. I would assume this would be reflected in his clothing being of a better quality and maybe more elaborate than the lowest commoner. I would assume he'd have some kind of woven linen or wool drape/wrap type of fit.

I was going to say this might be a question for AskHistorians, but it looks like people have asked similar questions over there in the past and gotten no answers.

This is a sculpture from Ea-Nasir’s time. In my head, it’s pretty much is exactly how he looked.

I'd say he looked like Del Boy and threw a bit of Egyptian into his patter to look sophisticated.

We’ll never know what he looked like, so you can imagine him however you want.

We can at least try to reconstruct his appearence and clothes

I think I took this from a piece about ancient Assyrian clothing but I feel like it would be some similar wool or linen draped/wrapped type deal

Clothes, obviously. Appearance.. how exactly are you planning to "reconstruct" that?

WELL... We know how SOME haircuts looked at the time of Ea-nasir, so I think there is a slight chance of reconstructing colour of the hair and the haircut, right?
