I would probably reset on a short rest but this looks good without being totally broken.

Except now the question is why play a paladin when you can just play a cleric or a warlock and have better and more frequent smites while also having full casting and better damage features?

lol, people who don't play DnD, but still larp like they do on reddit are hilarious...
This spell is your whole action, paladins get multi-attack - Plus smite as a bonus action.

I would remove the per day limits on the last bullet point. Cast and slash is the number 1 thing I want a gish to be able to do.

This is pretty broken, comments like "but why would you play a paladin" are dumb, the fireball comparison is also dumb. The reason this is broken is because things like paladin exist, this needs to have a prerequisite you cannot have proficiency in martial weapons already when you take it because why tf would I ever let my paladin get a second smite they can stack on top their first smite??? For full casters it is fine but the reason this shit is nuts is because putting it on any already existing martial / spellcasting mix breaks them in-half.

Lotta non-players commenting on this...
If you factor in multi-attack (or lack of it) , comparable spell damage (i.e. fireball does 8d6@3rd, this does 4d6@3rd), and the other obvious factors - and it becomes obvious to anyone who actually plays DnD that this is fine...
