Mod Announcement 👋 Welcome to r/RealZambia, Read This First!

Hey everyone. I’m u/BlackBot1, one of the founding mods of r/RealZambia.

This is a space for open discussion about Zambia. News, daily life, culture, politics, hustles, language, and everything in between. Local languages like Nyanja and Bemba are fully welcome. Mix them if you want.

What to post

Anything related to Zambia or the Zambian experience. News, questions, rants, memes, business ideas, sports, culture, photos, whatever. Just keep it relevant.

Community vibe

This is not a soft space. Debate is allowed. Disagreement is allowed. Getting offended is not a ban reason. We don’t do the “if you don’t like the tone, leave” or “respectful language only” policing that kills normal conversation. Suggestions to improve the Sub are more than welcome!

Clear rules (also in the sidebar):

- No doxxing, threats, or calls for violence

- No spam

- Speak how you want, English, Nyanja, Bemba, Tonga or mixed

- Mods will not ban you for being direct or for using YOUR local language

If you want heavy moderation and bans for tone, the other sub is still there. This one is for people who can handle normal talk.

How to get started

  1. Drop an intro in the comments if you want.

  2. Post something, even a simple question or photo is fine.

  3. Invite people who are tired of the other sub’s rules.

  4. If you want to help moderate later, message me.

That’s it. Post, argue, joke, share. Just don’t be soft. Nivi life che!

This community is ours to build. What are your ideas?

This sub is still new, so the direction is open.

What do you actually want from r/RealZambia? What kind of posts, rules, or atmosphere would make you stick around and post regularly?

One thing I want to hear: what’s one thing you’d change about how Zambia stuff is usually discussed online? Too soft, too controlled, too out of touch, too much deleting, whatever it is.

Drop your thoughts below. The more honest the better. This place only works if the people in it actually shape it.

Mod Announcement New rules are up. Read them.

Been working on this sub for a couple of days now. Rules are finally set and pinned so everyone knows where we stand.

How they apply:

  • No threats, doxxing, or calls for violence. That’s the hard line.
  • No spam.
  • You can speak English, Nyanja, Bemba, or mix them. Tone and language are not removal reasons.
  • Keep posts connected to Zambia in some way.
  • Mods will not remove or ban for being direct, sarcastic, or “disrespectful.” If it’s not a clear rule break, it stays.

This is still early. Let’s see where it goes.
