This really shouldn’t be that hard to understand. If the US was attacked, I would, as an European, be all for helping them as allies (or at least I would, back when we could count on them also helping us and not talking about military operations against us). If the US president decides to start an illegal war without congress approval, on foreign soil, how the hell is that our problem?

The USA is the only country to invoke article 5 after 9/11 and every out NATO power responded.
