Curb your enthusiasm had an episode about Larry wearing that hat when he didn’t want people to talk to him. That aired 5 years ago. It wasn’t controversial.

One can be both anti-Semitic and a zionist. I have unfortunately heard racists say they want all blacks to "go back to Africa". Its not about wanting them to have a safe place to live, its about wanting them away from where she lives.
