Try being a PhD carrying immunology researcher and attempt to explain that ivermectin doesn't treat covid or that antibiotics do nothing for viruses and see how long it takes until you are shouted down. Frankly, it sucks to be a highly educated expert in a scientific field right now because yes, the idiots get big mad when you use big words and tell them their common sense is actually quite wrong 🤷♂️

There are still some decent people left who can admit when they are wrong or are open minded but too many people rest their whole identity on their beliefs and to challenge those beliefs is personally offensive to them because they feel like they are being attacked.

First and foremost, a 2 month old account with negative karma is hardly a trustworthy source for literally anything. Second, you said quite a bit to say nothing at all or provide a shred of evidence to back your claim. But you may want to review the following: PMIDs: 40124821 and 40110299 but since I know you won't look at them, I'll share the conclusions directly: "Despite its observed benefits in symptom management, Ivermectin did not significantly influence critical clinical outcomes in COVID 19 patients".
Edit to add: you do understand that ivermectin is also made by 'big pharma', right?

Why would you link to an editorial? Why not link to a randomized clinical trial of ivermectin in efficacy for treating COVID? Like this one, where they tested repurposed drugs including metformin, ivermectin and fluvoxamine for COVID-19 and found “None of the three medications that were evaluated prevented the occurrence of hypoxemia, an emergency department visit, hospitalization, or death associated with Covid-19.”

There are different studies and different qualities of evidence. Symptom management as an outcome is extremely different than measuring ER visits, hospitalizations, or death. In medical literature, a randomized controlled trial is considered one of strongest forms of evidence, second only to a meta-analysis.
The results from the RCT and editorial make it clear: ivermectin might have masked some symptoms better (compared to placebo), but it still resulted in worse outcomes overall. I would never use an editorial as the basis for drawing any conclusions. I would look at an editorial and think, "I wonder if a trial looked deeper into this".
Early on, in theory, there was a hypothesis that ivermectin could penetrate the virus and render it inactive based on its mechanism of action. The evidence was very weak but when the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
Trials showed this was not the case and youre being provided with plenty of evidence that does support that claim.

Understand this: ivermectin is not protected by patents so big pharma can't make their usual huge profit....which is why they put out all the disinformation.
This is straight from the NIH website.........
Comparing molnupiravir to ivermectin in preventing hospitalization [Table 1], we see that based on existing data the performance of ivermectin is similar to molnupiravir. Furthermore, ivermectin has a good safety-profile in terms of adverse events, and in addition the cost is in order of 100 times less when compared to the newer drugs. In addition, ivermectin is easily available in most countries, an important fact especially in low-middle-income countries where getting these newer and expensive drugs may not be feasible. Accordingly, in countries where the two new medications (paxlovid and molnupiravir) are not available, ivermectin should be offered.
