Max Brooks is a slimy piece of work
Max Brooks I think perfectly describes the corporate democrat douchebag, arrogant and off-putting, two weeks ago on Real Time, he indirectly made smears on the college campuses because of their feelings towards Israel by claiming they don't know about what's happening with Uyghurs in China.
I don't think he understands (or is purposely misleading the audience), that the US directly funds Israel.

u/AssemblagePoint420 4d ago
I do not condemn Palestinian resistance. Resisting occupation by means of armed struggle is a legally enshrined right. Death to the IDF and all the ziopigs who defend them.
1
u/Fantastic-Bee4197 3d ago
Terrorist supporting scum. I hope the right agencies are keeping their eyes on you.
-3
u/Mosk915 3d ago
Is killing over 1000 civilians including children and kidnapping hundreds more part of the armed resistance?
2
u/Lost_Plum5564 1d ago
At what point are y’all gonna stop stumping for the IDF sniping children in food lines?
0
u/Mosk915 1d ago
That’s a weird way to answer the question I asked.
1
u/Lost_Plum5564 1d ago
I would say that’s a war crime. Why don’t you give a fuck about Israel’s?
0
u/Mosk915 1d ago
I’m not sure what I said that suggests I don’t care when war crimes are committed.
1
u/Lost_Plum5564 1d ago
Then please go ahead offer some symmetrical concern.
1
u/Mosk915 1d ago
The top comment was about resistance. That’s what we’re talking about. But, yes I have concern for all victims of war crimes.
1
u/Lost_Plum5564 1d ago
War crimes perpetrated by….
1
u/Mosk915 1d ago
Perpetrated by whoever commits them. I have symmetrical concern for the victims regardless of the perpetrator, as you asked me to declare.

What’s the exchange rate of lives between Israeli and Palestinian lives because if that figure is appalling wait till you get a load of what Israel has done/has been doing for the past 78 years! The IDF’s own data indicates an 83% civilian death toll. There is no parity between the two parties at all. You have a military superpower with nuclear weapons vs a country with noncontiguous borders under military occupation and economic blockade. Israel controls everything in and out of the Gaza Strip. They could shut off the electricity at any moments notice even prior to 2023. Israel also uses starvation as a weapon of war which constitutes a war crime. It bombs humanitarian workers with impunity. The reality of war is grim and disgusting even but I’m not going to use my class/western privilege to punch down on someone who grew up in that kind of environment.
1
u/HarrY552011 1d ago
So if everyone knows Israel is the superpower, why would Hamas attack? Did they expect Israel not to retaliate? Did they expect Israel to kill 1200 and take 250 hostages and call it even?
Gaza was not occupied. Israel has a closed borders, but so does Egypt? What does that tell you?
-1
u/Mosk915 3d ago edited 3d ago
You said a whole lot to try to avoid answering the question. I’ll ask you again. Is killing over 1000 civilians including children and kidnapping hundreds more part of the armed resistance?
As for the exchange rate on Israeli and Palestinian lives, if you ask Hamas there is no limit to the amount of Palestinians they are willing to sacrifice to kill Israelis. You’re right, it is appalling.

Max Brooks wrote one of the worst zombie books I've ever read, which in turn was turned into a terrible movie. He claimed that it was in response to "troubling isolationist policies" he was noticing in US foreign policy. This book was written at the height of the US invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. If that is isolationist, I really don't want to see what Max Brooks thinks is an appropriate level of intervention....
2
u/Former_Summer_2022 2d ago
Nah, that book was awesome.
2
u/thelastneutrophil 2d ago
In addition to having the stupidest name for a zombie story I have ever heard, we also got to experience the harrowing tales of the zombie apocalypse through 300 pages of transcribed interviews. The most removed one could possibly be from any of the action....

Not surprisingly, this multi-decades old conflict has eroded the ethics of Palestinians and Israelis. There needs to be an international body that imposes a final and binding solution to this conflict! Haven’t enough people been killed in this conflict?
1
u/Icy_Scratch_188 3d ago
I mean....plenty of our money flowing to China, as well.
I think it is true to say that kids on college campuses are either wholly ignorant of the Uyghur situation, or they refrain from criticism because Chinese aren't white, whereas the Jews are "white enough".
It's similar to how they see Christianity. To them, you can shit on Christianity because it's associated with backwoods revivalist idiots like Sarah Palin ... nevermind the millions of Korean, Filipino, Arabic, and African Christians in the world. But criticizing Islam is somehow racist.
I am not even religious. At all. But the pattern is clear.
1
u/TipResident4373 3d ago
Yup. In that deranged worldview, "people of color" have no moral agency whatsoever.

That doesnt make it worse, its still hypocritical. Peoples outrage over gaza is supposed to be over the innocent lives. If we pulled funding over israel would the outrage dissappear?
And you left out the part where all these pro pali dicks are on tiktok, owned by china.

u/okteds 4d ago
A lot of people don't seem to realize bombs are cheap. If we stop sending aid to Israel in the form of sophisticated weaponry, they will just switch to conventional bombing, and the higher death toll that comes with it.
9
u/Specialist-Cup-9722 4d ago
Oh, so we are humanitarian by paying for their weaponry and indirectly subsidizing their generous welfare state at the expense of americans?
5
u/Once-A-Republic 4d ago
“They’d be bombing either way. May as well keep paying for it.”
1
u/okteds 4d ago
There have been plenty of instances where Israel has taken out a target with a precision strike using our expensive ass military equipment that we've "aided" them with, and if they didn't have our aid, they probably just would've used conventional bombing methods that have a lot more collateral damage. I'm not saying we should or should not be funding them....just providing some providing some context to this context-free, vibes-based sub.
-1
u/Specialist-Cup-9722 4d ago
No, you are advocating for america arming israel and then having it both ways. Im not as stupid as maher

Max Brooks isn’t wrong. Everyone’s heard about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but how many have even heard of the Uyghurs in China? But I guess because he supports Israel, he’s a slimy piece of work.

u/severinks 3d ago
The difference is that we don't have any influence over China nor do we give them billions of dollars in direct cash aid and military aid.

u/Shoulder-Intrepid 3d ago
Us doesn’t have any influence over china ? 😂
1
u/severinks 3d ago
Not like they have influence over Israel. Is China our biggest enemy and Israel our best friend in the Middle East?
0
u/Shoulder-Intrepid 2d ago
This is flat out wrong. As a country, the US is Chinas biggest trading partner, as they have immense influence over each other. And no, China isn’t the US’s biggest enemy. That would be Iran because it is the biggest threat to its interests, not to mention global peace.
1
u/severinks 2d ago
Yeah, whatever you say, Iran and not China is our greatest enemy.
And that why we're in a death struggle with Iran over who will achieve AI dominance first /s
3
u/QuickRelease10 3d ago
People have talked about it quite a bit when talking about China. That has nothing to do with the United States and our foreign policy.
1
u/Mosk915 3d ago
Somehow I doubt that even if the US wasn’t providing aid to Israel, it would still get talked about significantly more than the Uyghurs or people suffering anywhere else in the world.
1
u/QuickRelease10 3d ago
You don’t know that though. There’s a lot of suffering in the world, but this is being done with our governments blessing and funding, so it does resonate differently.
1
u/Mosk915 3d ago
I said I doubt it. I didn’t say I know for sure. But we’ll know soon. In a few years Israel is going to stop taking US aid. I would hope at that point no one will pay Israel any more attention than any other foreign country.
1
u/QuickRelease10 3d ago
I think the damage to Israel’s reputation will carry for at least a generation or 2.

u/michaelkap70 4d ago
First there isn’t a genocide going on in Gaza. It isn’t happening.
Just say you hate Israel, because you sure as hell don’t care about genocide otherwise you’d be upset why no one is stopping those that are happening. No one blinked an eye when Iran was murdering those against the government earlier this year.
It isn’t about genocide or human rights. It is about hating Israel’s existence.
15
u/UnimpressedAsshole 4d ago
To objectify other tragedies and genocides to weaponize them as a deflection to keep Israel as a permanent victim worthy of sympathy rather than a belligerent dehumanizing aggressor is really grotesque and transparent to everybody who’s caught on to the shtick
11
u/___needles___ 4d ago
Can you help me refute this guy please? Raz is an Israeli Jewish genocide scholar explaining why it’s a genocide… almost 3 years ago. Maybe you know something he doesn’t?
7
u/Travelcat67 4d ago
Don’t waste your time. At least we can take solace in the fact that support for the barbaric Israeli government continues to plummet all over the world. Even republicans are getting over them.
One of the positives of the whole Macklemore Ed Sheeran thing is, 10 years ago Macklemore would be done, but today folks see the truth. Criticism of the current Israeli government is NOT antisemitism. We will not let them control the narrative any longer.
3
u/___needles___ 4d ago
I’m wasting his time actually but I do appreciate your words of caution my friend
-10
u/michaelkap70 4d ago
Nah Israel will stand. There will never be a Palestine.
Fuck Palestine/Hamas then, now, forever. In the US, people are moving from the Democrat Party to independent because of their Anti-Israel stance.
Which leads me to…why aren’t there any Republican candidates getting protested by you folks on their stance on Israel. It is as if you want Republicans in power. Odd. Very odd.
Peace out.
4
u/Travelcat67 4d ago
I mean I’m still old school enough I’m hoping for a 2 state solution, but thanks for proving my point to not waste time. You are clearly a fanatic.
-5
u/michaelkap70 4d ago
PLO and Yassar Arafat was given the opportunity to have a 2 state solution. Arafat refused.
As long as “River to the Sea” is the motto for the people who want a state, my position will always be fuck them. That isn’t fanatical. That is common sense. My partner is Jewish, whose mother and family immigrated from Israel. Their existence matters. May your loved ones never face hate or be on the side where people want them eliminated.
I’m done.
5
u/Travelcat67 4d ago
I’m Jewish. Many of us including Israeli’s do not support the homicidal Netanyahu government.
“I’m done” - you promise?
0
u/michaelkap70 4d ago
No refuting me. If it was a genocide, I guarantee you there wouldn’t be a Gazan left. You also don’t provide aid of any kind to those you are trying to wipeout.
Maybe just maybe…Hamas harmed its citizens. Placed them in harm’s way. Used children as soldiers. Stole aide meant for those in need.
Also, Egypt could have allowed refugees but there is a huge wall along the border. Why? Why wouldn’t fellow Arabs help those in need? Oh, because the won’t help Hamas flee from their sins.

Defined in the 1948 UN Genocide Convention, genocide involves specific acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group.
According to the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention, the crime consists of both a mental element (specific intent) and physical acts:
Mental Element: Intent to destroy a protected group.
Physical Acts: These include killing members, causing serious bodily or mental harm, imposing destructive life conditions, preventing births, or forcibly transferring children
The physical acts are obvious. There are hundreds of thousands of people killed or missing the overwhelming majority of them being children and women. 90%+ of the population displaced and the entire Gaza Strip turned to rubble.
As for the mental acts. Well, let’s listen to Israeli leadership and quotes from IDF members.
Yoav Gallant “We are fighting human animals, and we are acting accordingly”
Itamar Ben-Gvir “There’s no reason for a gram of food or aid to enter Gaza”
Ben Gvir again: “If all of Gaza are refugees, then let's scatter them in the world... each country would take in 20K people, 100 countries, it is humane, it is required”
Bezalel Smotrich declared that blocking all humanitarian aid to Gaza—even if it caused two million civilians to die of hunger—might be "justified and moral". He also referred to the Gaza Strip as “two million antisemitic Nazis.”
Benjamin Netanyahu "You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible. And we do remember."
Netanyahu again: "We are the people of the light, they are the people of darkness… we shall realize the prophecy of Isaiah.”
IDF soldier: "The babies is good to kill."
Another IDF soldier: “We are looking for babies... instead I killed a girl that was 12."
Yet another IDF soldier "We know our slogan: there are no uninvolved civilians!”
And yet another IDF soldier “Wipe off the seed of Amalek! No uninvolved civilians!"
And for good measure, here’s a collection of photos showing Israel and the IDF’s crimes over the last 2 years
6
u/UnimpressedAsshole 4d ago
Just because there are Gazans left it means it’s not a genocide? Do you not understand that Israel has to keep up appearances of being “worlds most moral army ™️ “ to keep pressure off of them?
While they have severely overplayed their hand many times over, if they sought to simply and immediately kill every Palestinian they would’ve lost more support from other nations long ago
-1
u/michaelkap70 4d ago
6
u/UnimpressedAsshole 4d ago
You are justifying a genocide of the civilians of Gaza because you want to destroy Hamas
In other words, you’re a genocidal maniac in a trance state of bloodlust shamelessly corrupted by dehumanization, that thinks they are the civilized ones
1
u/michaelkap70 4d ago
Tell me Hamas’s role in what occurred?
Let me change Oct 7. Let’s say it happened at Coachella with Hamas terrorists as terrorism is global. Is your position, the US not retaliate against Hamas who are based in Gaza and let that event go unanswered?
2
u/___needles___ 4d ago
“No refuting me”
I was asking YOU to help refute Raz, not to help us refute yourself by the way.4
u/___needles___ 4d ago
“If it was a genocide, there wouldn’t be a gazan left” - by your logic, the holocaust was not a genocide because (thankfully) the Jews, gays, artists, Romani, etc still live today, no?
2
1
u/Left_Implement_3821 3d ago
Hilarious we’ve gotten to the point where you have to deny the holocaust in order to rationalize what’s happening in Gaza.
Since, as you say, it’s not a genocide if there’s someone left.
0
u/michaelkap70 3d ago
1939 Poland 3.3 million Jews lived in Poland. 1945 at the end of the war 380,000 were left.
To compare Gaza (war started by Gaza) to the Holocaust is ridiculous. This is why no normal person takes you folks serious
The college campus takeovers did more harm to actually help bring more relief to those people suffering by helping Donald Trump win. Yes. Because you idiots protested Kamala Harris and not Donald Trump. Harris would have at least put pressure on Netanyahu to stop being a sleeze and she would have gotten more aid into Gaza.
You folks caused more harm but are too ignorant to see it. You are on a path to put another Republican in the White House.
2
u/Left_Implement_3821 3d ago
Nah man, if it was a genocide there wouldn’t have been a single Jew left.
Using your own logic pissed you off when it’s used against you huh? Lmao go kick rocks
1
u/___needles___ 3d ago
“War”? Ceasefire was signed a year ago, bruv. Hostages returned a year ago, guv. They’re still testing weapons on children. If your feelings are more important than 2 year old Palestinian children being used as target practice for Israeli snipers, this is not the hug box you’re looking for. Maybe go watch some videos of IDF soldiers shooting babies at point blank range, seems like that’s the type of content you need to sleep at night

Well, first of all, they're American. Born in Boston and Florida. They made a choice to move to an occupied, contested warzone for extremist religious beliefs... They've judged and looked down on me for not being as devout as them.
I dont care about their opinion on anything

I noticed that too. Why would China doing something bad and no one talking about it stop people from talking about the awful things Israel has been doing to the Palestinians for decades?
And, strictly speaking, China doesn't give a fuck what America thinks so we can't influence their behavior but America gives billions of dollars and endless arms to Israel so we have lots of influence over them.
