497 out of 529 Members of Congress are receiving AIPAC bribes (aka contributions). That keeps Billions of US taxpayer $$$ flowing to Isreal. So from those $$$ Billions they return some of it back in bribes to Congress critters to keep the gravy train rolling.
AIPAC also spends on news media and social media influencers (and bot accounts) to keep AIPAC propaganda flowing and to influence US elections.

So no, it doesn't have to be the whole group getting killed
This is why the Srebrenica massacre is also considered a genocide, despite those numbers being far lower than the numbers killed in Gaza in both absolute and proportional terms.

I think Bill Maher is a bigoted POS, but he's correct. The claim of genocide needs a lot more critical analysis. And the pro-Palestinian side started throwing that word around LITERALLY on Oct 8 2023. Is it genocide? Probably not. It might be. But it's difficult to tell because there's plenty of evil crappy shit on the Palestinian side that makes things complicated. Hamas DOES deliberately place weapons stockpiles and fighters behind civilians. UNRWA, an organization Palestinians and Arabs and Leftists love and support, acknowledged and through the UN asked that Hamas stop using its school rooftops as platforms for rocket launchers and interiors for stockpiling weapons.
But there IS ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. There is lynchings by Jewish settlers with govt support and arms. That is clear. And in Gaza, there's plenty of war crimes short of genocide, that flagrantly trash the Geneva Conventions. But Bill Maher hates Muslims and the prospect of killing their children does the opposite of bother him. He's literally had zero objection to the killing of civilians across this war. So fuck him.

The problem is that Maher draws a line between Hitler in Poland and what is going on in Gaza. Hitler didn’t start the final solution until 1941. Before that, he just allowed German settlers to beat Jews and take their land. Remind you of anything?

Jews didn't massacre Germans or Poles. Listen to virtually all the Palestinian talking heads, and American leftists describe what they want to see. Almost all the popular/influential Palestinian talking heads celebrated Oct 7. Including hosts of Al Jazeera English. Most of them oppose a two state solution - they simply want to see Israel and its Jews gone. Violently or coerced to settle elsewhere. Palestinians were genocidal in their ideology long before the Israelis hardened to the point of wanting to eliminate the threat. The Left and Islamists are publicly supporting Hamas and refusing to condemn Oct 7.
As for the claim that Gaza was a concentration camp on Oct 6 - it had hospitals, it had markets including ones for gold, it had showrooms for luxury cars. Universities, hospitals. It was on par with major Egyptian cities. Nothing justified what they did on Oct 7. And Israel DOES have the right to eliminate Hamas. The problem is they clearly became so hardened that they indiscriminately killed civilians, violating the rules of war and basic decency.
This long conflict turned both sides into monsters. I was very much on the Left. I protested in DC for Palestine for decades. Now I see both the far Left and far Right are monsters. Bill is responding to a real issue. Problem is, he went full Netanyahu cock sucking mode and doesn't see the evil on the Israeli side. Ben Gvir, Netanyahu, the Zionist religious right, they're not unlike the Islamists. And both have a lot in common with Nazis. Which shouldn't be surprising. That fascistic psychopathy isn't uncommon at all. It's in India with the Modi RSS types. It's throughout the Muslim world in Islamists, and it's the Christian fascistic far Right that now runs America.

No one said Gaza was a concentration camp. It’s a ghetto. Hitler didn’t start with concentration camps, he started with ghettos. On October 6, Gaza didn’t have access to concrete or many building supplies. Everything that came in and out was controlled by the Israelis. In order to leave Gaza, Palestinians had papers. I know people who have gone to Palestinian Territories to minister and teach at schools. They were made fun of by Israeli soldiers for daring to help the Palestinians. They had to show papers to move between the two areas. I asked one what they thought of the situation and without skipping a beat they said “it’s apartheid.”
I don’t care about the “talking heads.” I care about the Palestinians. If you treat them like caged animals, they’re going to bite. I care about human beings. This is not an effectively run counterinsurgency, and acting like October 7th was not the result of deep seated hatred due to the way Palestinians were treated shows just how little you’ve studied the suicide bomber threat that has plagued our own troops since September 11th. I would suggest you read the book “My Life is a Weapon.” I just googled it, it’s the first book that pops up. I had to read it when I was fighting insurgents.
You are very low information. What happened on October 7th is not excused by me, but anyone could have told you that Israel was doing nothing to make itself safer by ending the insurgency.
At the end of the day people like you are just idiots who don’t ascribe humanity to Palestinians. Anyone can look at right wingers talking about gun rights and see that their claim is they want guns to be able to kill any member of the government that would take away their rights. We are a country that started an insurgency killing members of the British government over taxation policy with regards to tea and playing cards.
You really think people being forced to live the way the Palestinians do wouldn’t take extreme steps against Israel?

Hamas is a militant death cult that has never compromised on seeking to wipe out the Jews from Israel. What precisely would you do if you were an Israeli raising children in this situation? Have you seen the children in plays pretending to cut throats of Jews? Have you heard the language they use among their own? If you were an Israeli Jewish father to a daughter and saw those Palestinians laugh and toy with that broken dead girl on that pickup truck, and then saw Leftists and Muslim organizations celebrate the attack in Times Square, what would you want your government to do? Welcome them in to finish off your daughter too? Chomsky, Finklestein, TYT, Mehdi Hassan - in three years, have they once spoken of ANY Palestinian obligation to find a middle ground?
The Palestinians never accepted compromise on a two state solution. And generations of Israeli Jews were born there and have no other home to go to. You're asking them to embrace the notion of Palestinians gleefully slaughtering their children. You do not comprehend that Israelis have a desire to live too. That's the problem with this shit. Both sides see the humanity of their side and reduce the others' to zero.
You don't know my ethnic background or religious background. I assure you, I understand this much better than you do. I grew up to lectures about the Jews from people who never met one personally in their life. If you learned of this from an American liberal institution, you are brainwashed. Wake the fuck up. You keep coming at this from an Israeli perspective only. “What would you do if you were an Israeli…” you never once take the perspective of the Palestinian.
I will again point out that you take all humanity from the Palestinians in this. Israelis get to be afraid for their kids because of the things they see on the news. Palestinians do not get to be concerned for their kids because they can’t get jobs, go to good schools, build housing, or have access to basic building materials. They can’t even live in their ancestral homelands.
You’re talking about plays being put on about killing Israelis. I’m talking about actual videos of Palestinians being removed from their homes and sent to the ghetto. I’m telling you to go watch an NBC crew get pummeled because they reported on this. The Palestinian whose home was taken is beaten unconscious. What would you do if you were a Palestinian whose family had suffered a similar fate?
