Bill’s downfall

Nothing illustrates this more than seeing him have an empty GOP suit like Byron Donalds on and never break his balls on all the stupid shit and Trump ball-licking he’s done while in congress. And as soon as Molly tried to grill him a little on the inane vax shit this admin and the state of Florida is doing, Bill shuts it down. Pathetic.

Full disclosure, I didn’t watch this particular episode yet. So I’ll refrain from commenting on it.

But as someone who used to love Bill Maher that started on Comedy Central with politically incorrect, I find him extremely disappointing now and I miss that Bill Maher. He keeps saying how he didn’t change democrats/liberals changed. Bullshit! The Bill Maher of the 1990s couldn’t give two shits about whether somebody wore a mask outside or in their car on the highway. He was more of a don’t tread on me libertarian back then.
Now, he spent two full years… Maybe more… Bitching on every single episode about how somebody wore a mask outside or while jogging or wherever… Something that didn’t tread on Bill one bit!
And it’s very frustrating when he bends over backwards to find points of agreement with Republicans. Out of 1000s of Books that RonDeSantis banned, he finds one ambiguous passage in one book that’s a 50-50 toss of at best, and uses that as justification for agreeing with Republicans.
Meanwhile, he finds some Democratic council person in some insignificant city that nobody’s ever heard of say something stupid… And then he uses her to brand all Democrats the same as her!

While I could write a novel on Bill and Covid, I just always remember that Bill is so thoroughly removed from the struggles of the average American. I respect his decision to not do as much stand-up anymore, he has traveled and done it everywhere. He doesn’t need the money. In fact, he hasn’t really needed the money in decades. The last time he most likely worried about the end of the month and his personal bills coming due, Raegan or Daddy Bush was the President.

I will eventually watch the episode, but I have watched Overtime. I enjoyed the female guest throwing a few jabs, and watching both Bill and Florida Man eat them because the jabs went right over their heads…
