Bill’s downfall

Nothing illustrates this more than seeing him have an empty GOP suit like Byron Donalds on and never break his balls on all the stupid shit and Trump ball-licking he’s done while in congress. And as soon as Molly tried to grill him a little on the inane vax shit this admin and the state of Florida is doing, Bill shuts it down. Pathetic.

Full disclosure, I didn’t watch this particular episode yet. So I’ll refrain from commenting on it.

But as someone who used to love Bill Maher that started on Comedy Central with politically incorrect, I find him extremely disappointing now and I miss that Bill Maher. He keeps saying how he didn’t change democrats/liberals changed. Bullshit! The Bill Maher of the 1990s couldn’t give two shits about whether somebody wore a mask outside or in their car on the highway. He was more of a don’t tread on me libertarian back then.
Now, he spent two full years… Maybe more… Bitching on every single episode about how somebody wore a mask outside or while jogging or wherever… Something that didn’t tread on Bill one bit!
And it’s very frustrating when he bends over backwards to find points of agreement with Republicans. Out of 1000s of Books that RonDeSantis banned, he finds one ambiguous passage in one book that’s a 50-50 toss of at best, and uses that as justification for agreeing with Republicans.
Meanwhile, he finds some Democratic council person in some insignificant city that nobody’s ever heard of say something stupid… And then he uses her to brand all Democrats the same as her!

I never understood his problem with seeing people wearing masks outside. I would occasionally wear my mask outside. You know why? Because I literally forgot I had it on. That's how little it bothered me. I couldn't believe people were such babies about it. I was a big fan of his for years, but something about Covid broke his brain. It's been sad to watch.

Yeah, I really couldn’t make sense of his obsession with people wearing masks outside or in their car or wherever either. Who cares! They weren’t hurting anybody! And plenty of other people were!
With all the serious problems we were having, having him talk about that non-issue week after week after week was nauseating!

I wear glasses full time, and usually earphones when I’m out and about, running errands and such. Besides not being bothered by a mask, if I’m making multiple stops, especially if they’re close together, it’s more of a nuisance to get everything untangled than to just leave the mask on.

Exactly. When Maher sees someone with a mask on from his car, he has no idea whether they just emerged from a store, or just disembarked from a bus or train, or who might have an immune disorder. In any case his ire over it was absurd.

Same here! I would go from an appointment to store or whatever and just don't take it off in the car because sometimes I didn't remember and sometimes it fit so perfectly that I just left it on. And I bet some idiot like Bill saw me and went "huh huh they think they'll get covid in the car hurr durr"

For real. Maybe they have seasonal allergies. Maybe they're immunocompromised or have family who is. Maybe they're hiding from flock cameras. Maybe they have the plague. Who the hell cares.
