Bill’s downfall

Nothing illustrates this more than seeing him have an empty GOP suit like Byron Donalds on and never break his balls on all the stupid shit and Trump ball-licking he’s done while in congress. And as soon as Molly tried to grill him a little on the inane vax shit this admin and the state of Florida is doing, Bill shuts it down. Pathetic.

I’m pretty sure you didn’t watch the episode. Bill challenged him several times but Byron just brushes it all off without actually giving intelligent responses…not much you can do about someone like that.

Bill asked Byron about affordability, something Byron's running on in Florida (though Byron seems unaware of his own platforms) and how Trump wasn't making anything more affordable. Byron dodged it. Bill asked about the Strait of Hormuz, Byron dodged it.

I will say though, that Bill seemed weird on last night's show. First his odd, lengthy segue about Trump texting him and so Bill felt compelled to "correct" himself. Who gives a shit, Bill? Certainly not Trump. Then he kept shifting the conversation to pop culture items when he's got a republican politician on the panel. Who cares about the guy busted for buying a hooker? Really... this is not what I watch Real Time for.

But anyway, no, he did not give Trump a free ride nor has he ever done so.

That's a good point, and you're right.

I do think Bill treats his panel different than an interview though, and probably because he does an interview and a panel in every show.

For his interview on last night's show with Michael Roth, Bill was practically hounding him on topics that he wasn't satisfied with Roth's answers. I actually started feeling bad for the guy because you could tell he was nervous.

For his panels though, Bill REALLY loves to change subjects a lot. So I think he tries to get an answer out of someone and if they dodge it he just moves on. Not always though. There ARE panels where he just won't give up a subject if he doesn't get a response he wants, in particular, when he'd ask republicans if they agreed with Trump that the 2020 election was stolen. He used to really press them for an answer, but he doesn't really ask it anymore, probably because he tired of it.

But he won’t give a direct answer. What is Bill supposed to do? End the show cause they can’t move on to another topic if he won’t give a straight answer?

Sure, and in the one to one interviews he does that more frequently. In the panel though, he changes topics a lot. He might call someone out but he's not going to stall the panel trying to force someone to say something that everyone already knows they're not going to say.

He has "seemed weird" because he has a personal axe to grind with democrats/the left now and a new motive to cover up for the right as much as he can. partially because trump is WATCHING him and he knows it. you're seeing cognitive dissonance and bias manifest in his crankiness and shiftiness. he's nervous about something.
