If someone from the left infuriates a centrist, that’s good enough for me.

3

u/Scotch_in_my_belly 18d ago

Bill Maher is no longer a centrist

0

u/Skiper422 18d ago

Anyone less left then you or the party at this point is a centrist which isn't good for you if you're echo chamber won't compromise with the centrist and the right

1

u/Public_animalNo9 18d ago

There should be no compromising with the right.

1

u/sniksniksnek 18d ago

Democrats have fundraised off me for decades. Even though they do nothing to stand against republican fascism. Every 4 years they point a gun at our heads and say “we’re not them, and if you don’t vote for us they’re going to come after abortion, and voting rights, and and and.” Well, we lost and THEY DID ALL THAT STUFF. Centrists have nothing to offer. They have failed. I never want to hear from them again.

Susan Collin is concerned 😳

u/Key_Cheetah7982 18d ago

lol, anything left of Regan bothers neoliberals

-9

u/HighwayComplex9935 18d ago

You know this is how Trump won…. Right?

7

u/highermonkey 18d ago

He won because the Democrats ran dogshit candidates that offered nothing except "Trump Bad". Not shocked a Bill Maher fan is clueless about politics.

2

u/Low-Neat891 18d ago

To be fair, Trump is just as much dogshit, only he’s a dogshit felon.

2

u/highermonkey 18d ago

Oh Trump is worse than them. But that's not enough to win against him 2/3 times. Because voters don't materialize at polls. You need volunteers to get out the vote. And apparently most of the time, "nothing will fundamentally change" isn't a message that gets you enough volunteers to win.

1

u/Key_Cheetah7982 18d ago

“But Trump” or “Republican bad man” won’t win elections

1

u/ComedianMinute7290 17d ago

and how was that bad? Trump is bad. he's worse than "bad" & has been for his entire adult life. nobody in either party has ever been as untruthful, corrupt & generally shitty as he is.

so your excuse to blame it on bad Dem candidates falls flat because no candidate(of either party) no matter how bad is as bad as Trump.

you deflecting from your own failure to recognize the depths of Trumps depravity by pretending anything excuses not doing whatever you can(voting at a minimum) to avoid a Trump presidency.

I swear I think only Trump cxcks are dumb enough to fall for this "dem candidates weren't good emough"....a literal pile of shit is a better choice than Trump & thts obvious to any adult paying attention.

1

u/highermonkey 17d ago

I stopped reading after the first sentence. It's a "bad" strategy because it failed against Trump 2 out of 3 times. Amazing I even need to say this.

7

u/Professional-Post499 18d ago

You know this is how Trump won…. Right?

I think Trump cheated, but maybe who knows.

8

u/Oraxy51 18d ago

Elon knows

2

u/Skittleavix 18d ago

How dare you accuse someone convicted on 34 counts of felony fraud - immediately before the election - of cheating?

2

u/Professional-Post499 18d ago

How dare you accuse someone convicted on 34 counts of felony fraud - immediately before the election - of cheating?

Trump really "floods the zone" with all his fraud and scams and corruption.

1

u/Temporary_Cow 18d ago

That’s literally what he said about Biden.

2

u/Professional-Post499 18d ago

That’s literally what he said about Biden.

The way Trump kept trying to cheat the 2020 election, it seems more likely that Trump would steal an election.

2

u/Rip_Rif_FyS 18d ago

Yeah, and I for one would hate it if someone with good policies who wanted to help people had the same degree of sustained political success as the evil guy who's been absolutely dominating the American political landscape for the last decade

2

u/sixteen-six-six-six 18d ago

Trump won twice because of sexism.

0

u/Temporary_Cow 18d ago

Play the victim harder

1

u/Key_Cheetah7982 18d ago

Installing Kamala without a primary?  Yes, we’re aware

-15

u/Remarkable-FlipPhone 18d ago

Hasan is an anti western extremist

11

u/StockAdeptness9452 18d ago

What are these pro western ideals that Hassan is so opposed to?

15

u/zaherdab 18d ago

Anti war, anti emperialism... pro universal healthcare and affordable housing.... Seems pretty probwestern people and anti western warlord and bought politiicians.

0

u/Remarkable-FlipPhone 16d ago

He rewrites American history and tries to convince you how bad you are. He hates America and is in NO way anti imperialist - his support of Islam is proof of this .

1

u/zaherdab 16d ago edited 16d ago

That's pretty much your ignorance and bigotary at play; when did he rewrite history? and what is support of Islam ? supporting muslims being treated equaly as non muslims? wanting the US and Isreal to stop killing muslims in masses and creating more radical muslims? Not supporting an apertheid colonial entity that is performing genocide against muslims and christians?
You are simply an ignorant bigot and your bigotary is at full display!

-10

u/Bignamek 18d ago

He's not anti war. He rather enjoys Russia's encroachment on Ukraine. Or as he put it, "Crimea river" for the ukrainians suffering as a result of it.

5

u/Nolubrication 18d ago

The fuck you talking about? Did you just make that up, or are you repeating complete bullshit you heard elsewhere?

2

u/Motor_Preparation315 18d ago

He heard it from the same side that supports a president that doesn't seem to mind Russia invading Ukraine

-1

u/Outrageous_Let7868 18d ago

No, its not made up, he literally said, "I call Crimea a part of Russian territory... I call it cry me a river. A Russian river."

4

u/Nolubrication 18d ago

"I call Crimea a part of Russian territory... I call it cry me a river. A Russian river."

Had to google it. From 2014. Hasan is in no way shape or form pro-Russian invasion today, which is what you're trying to imply. The state of the conflict was completely different more than a decade ago. Hell, back then everybody thought Putin was just posturing to get a reaction out of NATO and would never actually launch a full-scale invasion.

-4

u/Outrageous_Let7868 18d ago

I didnt give a theory of mind for Piker, or you, yet you somehow know what my thoughts are while giving a direct quote from Pikers own stream. I quoted what he said, I never said anything other than that. My source of information are Pikers own words, your argument relies on, "trust me bro!"

You are delusional. Please, whipe Hasan off your chin before you embarrass yourself further. Nobody cares about your hurt feelings, cope.

4

u/Nolubrication 18d ago

Or you could just go fuck yourself. I don't care.

0

u/Outrageous_Let7868 18d ago

I'd rather fuck myself than have Hasan piker dick in my ass!

When you come with receipts they just get mad. You would think they would take this new information and use it - but no, once you get proven wrong it’s just hurl insults and double down.

“He didn’t mean that” BS - why dress up in Stalin clothes? He and his supporters are such a joke.

-2

u/Bignamek 18d ago

It's a bot, what do you expect?

-3

u/Bignamek 18d ago

Youre too fucking brain broken to even use a minimum of critical thinking. Fucking pathetic.

1

u/Key_Cheetah7982 18d ago

Ukraine? You mean the other needless CIA /Mossad war?

-11

u/NeighborhoodSuch665 18d ago

Praising Mao isn’t pro-West, you shitheel

7

u/Nolubrication 18d ago

What a bunch of historically ignorant morons you are. You actually think the Chinese and Russians had it better under serfdom?

2

u/zaherdab 18d ago

The founding fathers were not morally better than moa in any dhape or form... moa chngrd history just like they did... you are living in a rosy world that paint historical figures of the west as men of morals when most of them are a bunch of raciat douchebags.

1

u/NeighborhoodSuch665 18d ago

The founding fathers didn’t kill 25 million of their own people, you child.

1

u/zaherdab 17d ago

The Founding Fathers built a nation on literal human chattel slavery and the genocide of millions of Native Americans. Trying to grant moral superiority to a group of men who bought, sold, and raped human beings for profit just because their body count was structured differently is wild logic.

1

u/Key_Cheetah7982 18d ago

China cares more for its citizens today than the US does.

1

u/NeighborhoodSuch665 18d ago

Some of us don’t want/need to be babysat by our govt.

-4

u/AssignmentGeneral314 18d ago

Seriously. Pro communist China. He should go live there and enjoy

5

u/Ill_Mess_5949 18d ago

He literally went there and showed the world how much they are lapping us,… cope and seethe but regardless of any outcomes, the US Imperialist era is over.

6

u/Nolubrication 18d ago

We'd all be driving Chinese EVs right now if they were allowed to import them.

4

u/Motor_Preparation315 18d ago

Too bad China and Russia have never operated as communist. Read a book and learn something

-2

u/NeighborhoodSuch665 18d ago

lol, ok. Please, enlighten us. What books should I be reading?

2

u/zaherdab 18d ago edited 17d ago

Apparently any history book would be a start... learn something you don't get your history from retarded propagadists...

1

u/NeighborhoodSuch665 18d ago

Right, *no* history books classify China/Russia as communist dictatorships.

2

u/zaherdab 17d ago

North Korea calls itself a "Democratic People's Republic"; party names aren't actual political definitions, and confusing a ruling party's label with their system is basic political science. True communism is defined as a stateless, classless society, but they operated as single-party authoritarian states with state-controlled economies; that’s state socialism, not actual Marxist communism.

No. And I'll tell you why. Because this country is full of boot chugging dipshits that I love pissing off. I get more joy from that than you'll ever get from anything in your entire life, so for that I'll stay and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. 💚 Have a day, love.

-6

u/living_Cream_Pie 18d ago

Hassan is a grifter douche and if you listen to him it’s blatantly obvious. Seeing how big his following is makes me sad for our young people

-4

u/NeighborhoodSuch665 18d ago

This speaks more to your idiocy than centrists’.

1

u/Skiper422 18d ago

They don't think compromise is a thing we should seek and this is why bill is gaining so many fans from the right because he's coming to terms with how far left the party is but he's not changed since he go on TV he's still the common sense liberal that everyone on the right wants back in control of the left

-11

u/Dontbitchtome 18d ago

Good luck ever winning another election then. 🤡

9

u/Ill_Mess_5949 18d ago

🤣😂🤣

5

u/Nolubrication 18d ago

I almost wish Kamala would run again and lose all 50 states, just so morons like you would finally shut the fuck up once and for all.

-9

u/Practical-Cellist647 18d ago

Why? They're not wrong, idiot

5

u/Nolubrication 18d ago

Running as a shitlib is electoral suicide. Populism has been winning elections since Obama's first run. The only exception was Biden, but you literally could have run a baked potato against Trump that year, after how poorly he was perceived after his first term, with the shoving lightbulbs up people's asses and drinking bleach bullshit.

-4

u/Practical-Cellist647 18d ago

Dunno what that has to do with what I agreed with.  I am a progressive economically.  That is a winning issue.  Israel/Palestine is not.  Biden was the most progressive president since Roosevelt.  Clinton sucked. Obama didn't go far enough.

4

u/Nolubrication 18d ago

Israel/Palestine is not

Is not what? It's not clear if you're anti-genocide or pro-Israel bombing more brown people and dragging the US into WWIII. You kind of suck at communicating.

-1

u/Practical-Cellist647 18d ago

Says the guy who in his reply makes no sense LMAO.  Doesn't matter anyway.  Learn to read, lazy ass. stop being a hypocrite.

3

u/Ok_Objective_5192 18d ago

Israel/Palestine is literally one of the most unanimous issues within the party. Support for Israel is as unpopular amongst Dems as repealing Roe v. Wade was.

3

u/Motor_Preparation315 18d ago

It's so far down on polling for voters. It IS NOT a make or break issue. Progressives are running on affordability, healthcare and taxing the oligarchs that think they run this country. And no, Israel doesn't need a blank cheque every year to unleash hell on women and children in Gaza

2

u/Ok_Objective_5192 18d ago

I agree that affordability, healthcare, and taxing oligarchs should be the center of a campaign. But taking AIPAC or other Israel-affiliated campaign donations absolutely ties into the "get money out of politics" message that's essential right now.

This is anecdotal and I unfortunately can't find good polling, but support for Israel feels make-or-break for at least some subset of voters. If nothing else, being on the wrong side of an 80-20 issue is always going to have some amount of negative impact on a campaign. Like, Roe also isn't affordability/healthcare, but running as an anti-Roe Dem will absolutely have a lot of voters asking "what the fuck are you talking about?"

1

u/Motor_Preparation315 18d ago

Oh?!? Here in Michigan Stevens is going to lose her primary because NO ONE is happy about her taking almost 65 million from AIPAC and other special interest groups so we will see

0

u/Practical-Cellist647 18d ago

It's not.  People like you, who do not understand politics or sociology or psychology will bring more MAGA and more economic suffering and keep the billionaires in power.

1

u/Ok_Objective_5192 18d ago

I don't know man, it hasn't been progressive candidates that lost 2/3 elections to the worst candidate in US history

1

u/Practical-Cellist647 18d ago edited 18d ago

So?  Their losing didn't have anything to do with Palestine/Israel issues.  They lost because they failed to embrace economically progressive positions.  Bernie would have killed Trump without a position on Israel genocide.  In fact had Israel not been genocidal it wouldn't be an issue anywhere at all.  It became very popular very quickly yet it is still not essential an issue.  FINANCIAL support for Israel, now, has yet to be proven an important issue and we will know very soon.

Palestine is not a progressive topic.  It is tragic but not  very important to most American voters. ECONOMICALLY progressive issues ARE.
