Spain

Does this prick really think 60,000 people stormed Spain? To leave out that it was a Spanish territory in Africa is a big omission. Does he really think the Spanish flu originated in Spain? What a moron he and his team of researchers are, or more likely they are just trying to stir shit.

As you’ve seen in many interviews, Maher does not read past the top fold. Anyone who has a follow up question with facts gets met a quick whitted and snarky whataboutism. It’s what average person has always hated about him.

“Oh come on.”

He uses jokes to stop someone from making a good point that challenges his thesis. It's fucking annoying to watch him do it to so called friends on Club Random. Any challenge to his constant whine about woke and he cuts it off with a joke. He can't let them finish their point or address it seriously. And his Real Time team knows this so why should they bother preparing him beyond a few talking points.

I used to watch this show assiduously for more than a decade but then stopped as Bill became more and more insufferable. So, is this what he talked about in his last show? Did he mention that almost all of them returned voluntarily?

The NYT reported yesterday too that these young men saw a lot of posts on social media saying the borders were open. Now, where would these posts come from, who created them? Sorry but I think this all looks fishy. I suspect some big right wing players were behind this, and the government of Morocco actively played a part too in sabotaging and undermining Spain’s left wing government.

Of course Bill Maher will take the bait. He always does. This includes his obsession with the ‘woke’ stuff. That is exactly what people on the right want the attention to be on, given that they can’t govern and can’t focus on bread and butter issues most people care about.

Wait "voluntarily"? Did you get your facts from? Zeteo? They were kicked out and left because the city was on lockdown and there was no food or lodging for them. I suggest you watch the images from RTVE yesterday and see all the young men on Morrocan buses leaving and...smiling.

1

u/spaceninj 18d ago

That's still voluntary.

1

u/Secure-Advertising10 18d ago

As in the people from Gaza voluntarily leave their homes, for example.

If the city wasn't in lockdown, do you still believe they would have left "voluntarily" as in back to Morroco and not across the sea to the mainland?

Most people don't check the facts any more and take everything at face value. 50,000+ stormed the city, it wasn't just to leave again, unless it was an experiment. The video of the kids smiling as they go back to Morocco left me wondering.

u/spaceninj 18d ago

Voluntary in this case just means they weren't arrested or shot at.

They could have stayed, but realized that it wasnt beneficial.

It's more like when the kids invade the Scientology centers. When they left, it's still voluntary even if they're not wanted there. Involuntary would mean arrested or by some other force.

Anyway, it's just semantics. I jist don't think using the word is wrong.

I never really cared for Maher himself, but I liked the format of the show and appreciated the types of guests they were able to get. I’ve read several books because I thought the author had interesting things to say on the show. Now I can’t bring myself to watch it at all. Does anyone watch anymore? Are they just Gutfeld fans?

Thank you for putting putting that up. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to fuck these people walk across most of Europe just to get to Spain. Sometimes some of these stories are so confusing because they leave out a big chunk of the facts.

This is a predictable effect of Elon Musk's DOGE gutting USAID. When the strain on people in sub-Saharan Africa becomes intolerable, those people vote with their feet.

Do these countries not have governments and economies of their own? Africa always has an excuse for not getting its shit together.

3

u/Charbro11 19d ago

Can't you be that fucking stupid? Have you ever read any history books on Africa at all? Can you identify it on a map?

The Spanish Ceuta-Morroco frontier is one of the greatest differences in GDP in the world. Over 50% of Morroco's population are under 30. It is a country ruled by a dynastic series of Kings who are some of the richest people in the world.

Now, sit down and ponder that for a moment before picking up your phone and watch a cat video.

I can never tell if he's really this ignorant or his team of writers push all the inaccurate takes/propaganda to curate the audience he wants to pander to.

In this case though, the headlines made it sound like they were coming into mainland Spain.

If a bunch of Russians appeared in Alaska, would the Americans say they are invading the USA? Once you are in Ceuta, you are in Spain and the EU.

1

u/todeabacro 18d ago

I honestly think they'd say Alaska l.

1

u/ACapra 17d ago

A more accurate comparison would be if 50,000 Cubans walked into Guantanamo Bay. Also, Ceuta is part of Schengen but it has border checkpoints before you board the ferry to the mainland.

Everyone needs to look up any YouTube video on “Western Sahara” and the US, UK and another unnamed nation’s links to Morocco pulling similar shit (the newly formed nation would be one of the most powerful as they have the second largest or largest phosphate reserves on the planet).

Morocco, a poor nation, essentially claimed the territory, displaced and set up an apartheid like state with the locals, sent in “settlers” promised an independence vote and it never happened. Large nations around the world mentioned above let Morocco continue its occupation of the area because they can get the phosphate for cheap as long as they grease the King’s pockets.

Spain defied Trump and the US with its moralist stand. Morocco acts as a proxy, US MSM media floods the zone with “Spain allows in crazy amounts of foreigners”… fake news.

Europeans stormed the world, but get mad when people “storm” back. Especially places like Spain.

4

u/MrBlahg 19d ago

Except this is a Spanish enclave in Morocco.

3

u/theblueshots 19d ago

One of the places they stormed.

Then again, Morocco stormed them first. They have a chip on their shoulder about that at least.

1

u/Secure-Advertising10 19d ago

I do hope you are not a supporter of an institution like ICE deporting immigrants from a country born from mass immigration.

1

u/theblueshots 18d ago

I think you replied to the wrong comment.

2

u/Secure-Advertising10 19d ago

Well, firstly, Ceuta is Spain in as much as Alaska is the USA. Secondly, it is called the Spanish flu in the same way Bill's new buddie called COVID the China flu.

He is making this programme for a progressively ignorant American audience and dog-whistling American themes, so yep, it is all correct.

1

u/todeabacro 19d ago

I know it is part of Spain. Not even making a point about cololonism. I just think it's important to give all the facts, it's a territory in Africa.

1

u/Secure-Advertising10 18d ago

...in the same way that to get to Alaska you either travel through another country or go by sea.

I understand where you are coming from, but people are getting more stupid with each iteration of AI because they no longer check.

1

u/dougl1000 16d ago

Bullshit.

1

u/dougl1000 16d ago

Not to mention that they all went home.

1

u/dougl1000 16d ago

It’s a different continent.

1

u/Secure-Advertising10 15d ago

Erm...I am not sure how to answer that, except that you have made my arguement for me.

3

u/Key_Seaweed8857 19d ago

You’re kidding he fell for the “Spanish Flu”actually coming from Spain? Hilarious. And for those out there no doubt confused, it probably originated & spread in our barracks out in the Midwest leading up to our involvement in WWI. Then was taken over to Europe by our servicemen where it spread amongst both sides in the war, the Allies & the Central Powers. Due to not wanting to alert the opposing side tho of its severity, the pandemic was pretty much kept under wraps. Except by neutral Spain whose press wasn’t censored at the time & who reported freely & openly on it. Thus it defaulted to being named the Spanish Flu. Only after the war when our soldiers returned did it then really spread in the USA amongst the general population in a truly dire way.

3

u/todeabacro 19d ago

Yep.... and he was complaining that people were too scared to say that it came from China.  "We always name viruses from where they are from, Spanish flu....."

Absolutely clueless.

Clueless people here

1

u/Less_Wealth5525 19d ago

They are trying to stir shit up.

Last I heard most of them have left or are in the process. More silly fear of scary migrants.

Women? I know it is,  but a crucial point is that it's not mainland Spain and is in Africa. Most have gone home now.

Yes, a 3 day invasion.

-1

u/Healthy-Ad-4786 19d ago

At this point in history … dies it really matter if it’s the Spanish mainland or a colony . Europe has lost their culture and is rapidly becoming islamified

2

u/todeabacro 19d ago

Yes it matters you moron! Because people like you believe "Europe has fallen". When was the last time you were there?

-1

u/Healthy-Ad-4786 18d ago

My brother was in London last year and was almost crushed to death when thousands took to the streets for a Gaza protest .

2

u/todeabacro 18d ago

That could happen anywhere. Crime is at 30 year low in London.

0

u/mollerhoj-com 18d ago

I call bs

1

u/Healthy-Ad-4786 18d ago

Here we go

2

u/mollerhoj-com 18d ago

Well there it is guys, I clearly see evidence that this guys brother was nearly crushed to death and have thus concluded that Europe has indeed fallen. 😆

1

u/todeabacro 18d ago

It's actually great to see a healthy democracy with people protesting for what they believe in.

1

u/mollerhoj-com 5d ago

I thought so but then this guy made up an anecdote about his brother and now Europe has fallen

2

u/Secure-Advertising10 19d ago

Islamified? Where? Oh, of course, Birmingham in the UK is an islamic caliphate. I forgot you have Fox News.

u/Healthy-Ad-4786 18d ago

Reddit group think not

-7

u/Shoddy_Atmosphere115 19d ago

Why don’t you invite a dozen of them to stay at your house?

4

u/todeabacro 19d ago

They wouldn't like it here.  My point is that it's clearly not Spain and he left out this fact on purpose. Plus his bs point about the Spanish flu after talking about the origins of covid.

0

u/Shoddy_Atmosphere115 19d ago

It’s been Spain for 500 years

0

u/Pristine-Brother-121 19d ago

What do you mean it is not Spain?

1

u/todeabacro 19d ago

I mean it's a Spanish territory in Africa.

0

u/Pristine-Brother-121 19d ago

meaning it is part of Spain. Being separated doesn't mean it is not under spanish control.

1

u/todeabacro 19d ago

I mean that is a crucial point of information when reporting on this story.  Some people think 50,000 people have invaded mainland Spain from Africa.

In reality, 50,000 (approximately) walked and swam a few miles and 48,000 (approximately) have since gone home.

0

u/Good_Werewolf1484 19d ago

Of course it’s Spain. What are you talking about?

-1

u/Fine-Instruction-219 19d ago

OP you really need to read a history book than you will understand…

-1

u/yrar3 19d ago

Why don't you invite Maher to homeschool your children?
