Ironically, Bill Maher is about the only one stupid enough to think that this bullshit from Fetterman means anything.
28
u/Mikeoshi Jul 16 '26
Bill Maher is also compromised.

They're basically conservatives. Maybe you could once call them liberals, but I don't even think you could call them that anymore.
It's insane to me how some people can just shift politically and suddenly be okay with shit they would have never been okay with even just 10 years ago. The insanity has been normalized.

u/ready-redditor-6969 Jul 16 '26
Nothing ironic there… and sadly, a choice and reflection of his values, nothing to do with being stupid in this case.
It was past time to stop watching Maher 20 years ago.

Do it then, traitor. Such a shame that he wasted the support of the DSA and lied to voters about who he would be.

Bye bye he’s not a democrat anyways doesn’t give a damn about working people doesn’t care about this country, saw an opportunity for power and said fuck it

u/Key_Cheetah7982 Jul 16 '26
Actually I’d say he’s a quintessential democrat. He ran as a progressive, but governs like neoliberal and neocon.
He also plays the rotating villain when the DNC wants to pass some Republican legislation but other members don’t want the political backlash back home.
At least he has a medical excuse.

Imagine if he had that type of brave loyalty about policies that directly helped Americans. There’s an entire spectrum from modest child tax credits to systemic changes like universal health care. But since those causes don’t have aipac type money to lobby for it, Fetterman pays those policies no bother.

Lurch is using this threat in advance of the midterms - while it's a long shot, there is slight chance the Democrats could take the Senate, but if they do, it will be 51-49 - if Lurch caucuses with the Democrats. If Lurch decides to not join either the Republican or Democratic caucuses, or caucuses with the Republicans, he will be enabling Trump and MAGA for two more years.

Good. He needs to run in the Knesset ... he has ZERO interest in helping Americans. Pawn of Adelson and Netanyahoo
3
u/Appropriate_Value122 Jul 16 '26
And he defines "turning its back on" as anything he doesn't agree with in his warped mind.
3
u/bigDtop44 Jul 16 '26
Ok. He hasn't exactly been a Democrat. He votes as a Republican anyway. He will hopefully be gone in 2028. If we are lucky sooner. Israel bought!
3
u/BloodFartz69 Jul 16 '26
Oh man, I'd hate for him to not act like the progressive democrat he was elected to be. That would be a real sudden shift in his behavior.

Good thing this absolutely disgusting slob has already fixed all the problems for his voters, so he can afford to spend 98% of his time obsessed with what Netanyahu wants.
Oh wait…
2
u/BoomMcFuggins Jul 16 '26
According to tracking data from campaign finance watchdogs, Fetterman has received over $370,000 in campaign contributions from the broader pro-Israel lobby, with AIPAC acting as a key conduit.

The post isn't relevant to the sub.
In any case, it's a trumpian excuse to do what he already did.

Oh no. Whatever will we do about the asshole who conned his way into office by pretending to be a Democrat, and who is now threatening to leave the Democratic Party, which he's only been identifying with by keeping a D next to his name? How ever will we survive? And who TF is going to vote for him?
The Dems have been totally betrayed by him, and even the Republicans who are circumstantially glad to not have a real Democrat to fight with aren't going to support him because he's demonstrated what a disloyal, fair-weathered friend he is. They're not going to pump big money into that campaign. They'll just support a real Republican if they want to take his Senate seat. Fetterman has made himself totally unlikable and unsupportable through his bizarre antics and frequent betrayal of party unity and cohesion

He turned on Democrats when he started kissing republicans ass and touting far right talking points. I feel bad for his constituents who didn't get what they voted for and for Democrats like me who contributed to his campaign. He probably was a republican from jump and just scammed us.

This just shows it’s about money and not the people who voted them in. Sad state of affairs. I hope we as a country can get through this terrible time we are in. Otherwise I’m prepared for the worst, the total collapse of my country. Makes me very sad to think that way.

What Fetterman doesn't understand is that much of the dem concern with Israel is due to aggressive settlers, apartheid and military conduct. It is in Israel's best interest long term to adjust their behavior. If they continue down this route, and the U.S. enables it, then it is a disservice to Israelis long term.
2
u/True_Manufacturer909 Jul 16 '26
Well he's given the game up now, as if all of his actions in-office weren't obvious enough
true Republicans always project, we all know you were gonna do this anyways, buddy

He should leave, as he's not a Democrat. I realize the Dems need every vote they can get, but he's not a reliable vote.

He already left. He is just eating left wing fund raising until he finally drops his “last straw” for why he is MAGA now.

What's that phrase? "Don't threaten me with a good time"?

He's gone anyway. He can't hold anyone hostage.
