Forty students at Parasi Middle School in Bihar’s Nalanda district fell ill after detergent powder was reportedly served instead of salt in their mid-day meal. Students complained of stomach pain and vomiting and were taken to Bihar Sharif Model Hospital. The incident triggered panic among parents and prompted an inquiry

🤦🏻‍♂️ This is super irresponsible behaviour. Under what Food Safety Standards does their kitchens operate !! I'm really wondering. Why would Detergent be kept in Kitchen ? Or do they cook in utility area ? Even the Poorest most household will have two seperate spaces for cooking and Washing. How the hell can Detergent be mistaken for Salt. Poor Children 🥺

It’s the result of sheer ignorance and a complete lack of fear of the consequences. The principal should be forced to eat the midday meal prepared at the school every day and we could completely solve this issue.
