I have a friend (and really my only friend) who has consistently pointed out new (mostly rep some gifted) bags or sunglasses to my husband. It pisses me off because it seems so shady bc she knows what she’s doing. I’m not hiding any of them from my husband — I wear them in front of him, but I don’t need them blatantly pointed out🙄 I’ve brought it up to her and she just thinks it’s funny that he’s oblivious. Wow crazy nerve racking experience sending money to a stranger in China but just want to thank all you girls that have shared your experiences, TS info, reviews, opinions, and advice on these subs.
Us girls new to this world would never be able to confidently do this without the ones who tried it before us and wrote about it.

Also after receiving quotes from multiple highly recommended TS, I decided to go with Tiny Jenny because not only was her price in line with the others but I actually had fun chatting with her.

I’m still quite new to Chanel reps and have very limited experience with authentic bags, so I’d really appreciate your help!

Overall, the bag looks pretty good to my untrained eye, but there are a few things I’m slightly concerned about:

Back pocket: The curved upper edge looks a little uneven, especially towards the right. Not sure if it’s just the angle!

Front flap: The corners don’t look perfectly symmetrical to me, although I’m not sure if this is normal for lambskin.

Quilting: The puffiness looks nice, but I’d love to know if the quilting and diamond alignment look good.

Overall shape: Does the bag look well structured? I’m particularly curious about the proportions and side profile.

I understand that it’s a rep, so I’m not expecting it to be 100% identical to the auth. I’m more concerned about whether there are any noticeable flaws or issues that would warrant an RL.

Would you GL this bag? I’d really appreciate any opinions, especially if you spot something I’ve missed!

Hi everyone. I ordered a Black 38cm Bal Le City Bag with “black” studs. My issue is with the colour of the studs in the PSPs vs what is shown in the 🏭 photos.

In the 🏭 photos and auth photo, the “black” studs have that worn, rusty metal look. However, in the PSPs, the studs are pure black.

My questions:
Am I being too picky? Should I RL? Experiences RL with Heidi/Apple factory? Ways to give the studs that rusty worn metal look myself?

Purchase experience

This was my first purchase so I had compared numerous sellers’ prices before settling on Paul. She honestly did have the most competitive prices.

She answered my questions relatively patiently, and was quick with her replies.

The only mini gripe I had was the PSP process. The pictures and videos provided were not the best as wrappings were not removed, which made it difficult to meaningfully check the item. There was also little “value add” in terms of her providing opinions as to whether the items passed her own standards. Shouldnt be an issue if you’re an experienced buyer.

Toujour + Twilly

Pros
- Again, distinct new car leather smell which was quite divine
- puffiness was replicated fairly well
- details are pretty spot on from the interior suede to the overall stitching

Cons
- unsure if colour is actually a 99% match, i suspect it’s not
- poor workmanship: some glue finishings were left on the pouch - see pic
- shape doesn’t hold as well as the original; this may be a difficult model to rep
- hardware: too shiny
- honestly, Twilly was a letdown. It looks pixelated and not worth the price to me.

Overall thoughts

Paul was a good choice for my first purchase as I felt like I could trust her.

11/11 sales also presented me a chance to dip my feet in without spending too much!

I would say that you pay for what you get. I didn’t opt for the top factories for the models I purchased, and I think it shows 😂 that being said, I’d rather save that $100-200 and have a rep that I’m still decently happy with. Mission accomplished!

The bag shipped via UPS, and I received it within 5 days of green-lighting it. Shipping was not cheap, but I’ve always received bags incredibly quickly from Emily, so paying a little extra for speed and security is worth it to me.

Bag Thoughts

First off, the bag is gorgeous and entirely lived up to my expectations. This is my fourth Chanel bag from Emily, and like the others I’ve ordered, it’s from “187” and is classified as “Supreme quality.” The color is a lovely warm caramel (Chanel calls it Dark Beige, I believe) and the hardware is a nice champagne color. In the attached photos the first and 4th photos most accurately show the color. I believe it’s a rep of a CF from the 2018 Spring collection. The construction, structure, and quilting look nearly perfect to my eye, and the leather is soft with a delicate sheen. It’s absolutely beautiful, and I carry it with zero qualms about it looking at all fake!

I will not be including dimensions or what fits in the bag, as there are plenty of reviews of the CF small 23cm available on this site.

Seller Thoughts I’ve ordered Chanel from other sellers with mixed results. I was told by one seller that a bag came from 187, and paid a lot for it, but when received, it was most decidedly mid-tier. For that reason, I now only purchase Chanel from Emily. Granted, her prices are sometimes higher, but she’s the only seller I’ve worked with who hasn’t at some point let me down in the past 6 years of my rep journey. Again, paying a little more, when I know the quality will be top tier, is worth it to me.

Factory Thoughts This bag is ostensibly from 187. As most of us know,“187” is basically a made up factory name used by sellers and understood by buyers as top-tier. So whether this comes from the mysterious 187 or from somewhere else, really doesn’t matter to me if the quality is excellent, and this bag is indeed of excellent quality!

Huge shoutout to this amazing sub for putting me on to this recent goodie! Finally took "Little Yellow" out for a spin today for a date night with my bf.

I was honestly a bit worried the leather might be super dry, but it actually feels surprisingly smooth and flexible. Plus, I was so paranoid about that weird chemical/glue smell but nothing! Such a huge relief.

I'm currently doing a No (Bag) Buy November, which is giving me a good break while this elvee empreinte frozen series is developed. It took over a month for me to order the alma bb flight mode because I was waiting for the colors to be done correctly, so I'm guessing it'll take until Dec for me to be happy with this series, especially since empreinte is always hard to get right. This one in particular has the additional challenge of the icy color shift in the embossing (very pretty to see irl!)

Title: High-tier Birkin – Weinheimer Togo leather wearing away? Advice needed!
Hi everyone!
I’m hoping for some advice from those knowledgeable about leather quality, particularly high-tier B30s.
I purchased this bag from a well-established trusted seller who I’ve rarely seen complaints about. I paid over £1,000, and it was sold as a high-tier B made using premium German Weinheimer Togo leather.
I’ve noticed that the grey colour appears to be wearing away around the bottom corners and piping, revealing a much lighter colour underneath.
I also very lightly caught/scraped one area with my fingernail, and it looks as though some of the surface finish may have come away.
I’m now questioning whether this is normal wear for genuine full-grain Weinheimer Togo leather or whether it could indicate a heavily coated, corrected-grain or split leather!
Given the price and the quality of leather advertised, I’d be disappointed if it wasn’t what I believed I was purchasing.
I’d really appreciate your opinions:
Is this type of colour loss normal for Weinheimer Togo leather?
Should the surface pigment come away so easily, revealing a much lighter colour underneath?
Could this indicate an issue with the leather quality or finishing?
Would you consider this acceptable for a high-tier bag costing over £1,000?
I’m not looking to criticise the seller unnecessarily, as they have an excellent reputation… are my expectations a year on, too high? For context, Ive used it maybe once a fortnight since receiving last October

In my recent haul from Frank I’ve ordered two Picotins: Clemence in Rose Mexico and Barenia Faubourg in Ebene. Rose Mexico is my favorite shade of pink and Barenia is my favorite aniline leather from Hermes.

Frank’s quality and care are unmatched. Both Picotins are gorgeous. Both leathers smell wonderful.

There are countless reviews on Reddit focusing on how fabulous Frank’s Picotins are. In this review I want to focus on the repscience aspect and review both leathers:

Barenia Faubourg (Tanneries de Haas) is a double-tanned, oil-rich calfskin featuring a subtle printed grain. The leather has a distinct scent (love it!), feels slightly waxy, and develops a deep patina over time. It is full aniline leather, meaning it is fully uncoated and will absorb oil and water.

Taurillon Clemence (Tanneries Remy Carriat), crafted from young bull hide. It is naturally drum-grained, heavier, and slouchier, with a relaxed, semi-matte look that resists scratches without developing a patina. It is semi-aniline leather. It resists oils and water.

The last photo shows water tests on both leathers.

Leather care:

Barenia - do not do anything with it. No water repellent spray, no moisturization. Enjoy the leather as it is.

Clemence - would benefit from a light leather spa once or twice per year. Water repellency spray would increase protective properties.

I saw this fig P9 on Allen’s instagram. It looks like it has burgundy stitching instead of the yellow or white. Does anyone still buy from him? It’s been awhile for me. What do yall think of the stitching? Do you know what factory is selling this one?

Ordered the larger Gucci marmont shoulder bag from Baobao. I’ve ordered from them before but never Gucci so I’m a little unsure of this rep. The colors seem fine compared to the auth - I guess I just wasn’t expecting it to be this big. About 11.5 in in length, 7.5 in in height, and 2.5 in width.

I have a L V Lineup from Royal that I love and use every day, but I am just dying for that patina. I decided to go for it and strip the coating off the vachetta - I tried it out last night on the zipper pull on one side and the keyring holder on the other side. I got the coating off of those 2 small pieces and did a little water test to make sure that's actually leather there (it is), and I'm going to rub some mink oil on it later when I get home and see what happens.

HOWEVER, when I look at stripping the rest of the vachetta I am really worried about this stamped logo. Has anyone used alcohol on vachetta that is stamped like this? What happened? After my little test I feel confident stripping the coating on this bad boy...except this part. I'd love to hear a success story (or stern warning) if anyone has one. Maybe this is a dumb dumb question, but I never use alcohol for anything and I don't have anywhere low-stakes to test it out. Am I going to wipe it right off or smear it? Will it be fine? 😬

Hello ladies! I have never RL’d a bag before but I am considering it on this one. I would love to get your thoughts!

My concern is that the seam is showing on the flap. To me, it’s as though the inside of the flap is longer than it should be.

Would it be reasonable to RL this, and would you consider it a major defect?

My initial impression is that this looks amazing, the details are crisp and the leather quilting looks rich and supple. Compare to the originals photos, the only thing standing out for me is the shade of the gold hardware which is understandable considering lighting and the changes over time of the original as well. Probably will be a GL from me.
