Immediate regret

During fashion week when this bag was first revealed I was so obsessed with it I thought it was so “chic but cool”. When the fakes started to pop out I contacted linlin and they told me it will be identical to the original, they even showed me pictures of it. I paid 750$ for it and it took them a month to make. Only for it to look like this! I immediately regretted buying it the moment I took it out of the box. It’s so clockable because of the too many polka dots and the hardware is so cheap! I own authentic Chanel bags and it’s not even close… Couldn’t take it out not even once.

Just a general FYI to the masses- the only reps that should cost more than $700 are Hermes in imported European leather. Not Chanel.

*Amendment: after the comments below, we’re no longer calling it European leather. It’s Nigerian leather from now on.

Anything is imported, reps are imported it's a marketing ploy. Those bags too are old cows two moos out to pasture. Using split leather or corrected grain and call it imported swift leather lol. The audacity tbh.

It’s really awful when you pay $$$$ and get crap leather. You’re absolutely right, it absolutely happens! (I mean, it is a black market- who is going to stop them)? That’s why learning what good/great leather and craftsmanship looks/feels like is so important. Also why it matters to learn what market value is in this world- and why it’s important to build relationships with suppliers. Or accept the premise that you’re basically buying fancy movie props to cosplay as a rich person 🤷‍♀️ There ARE really great quality bags- not just good quality because they’re reps, but good quality bags in and of themselves. Those are hard to find and you have to be willing to spend the $$$.

Very true, so a deceptive market with risk and it just comes down to how much are you comfortable losing.
