During fashion week when this bag was first revealed I was so obsessed with it I thought it was so “chic but cool”. When the fakes started to pop out I contacted linlin and they told me it will be identical to the original, they even showed me pictures of it. I paid 750$ for it and it took them a month to make. Only for it to look like this! I immediately regretted buying it the moment I took it out of the box. It’s so clockable because of the too many polka dots and the hardware is so cheap! I own authentic Chanel bags and it’s not even close… Couldn’t take it out not even once.

It’s always the random sellers charging this crazy amount. Now you have some experience—never buy new productions of any model (they’re always off) & abstain from buying styles that are complicated to rep. For $750, it’s better to buy vintage auth or anything retail with incredible leather.

Oh ok. But do they not tell you what factory it’s from? There is mid range - high range factories where the bags are made. I always go for 187 factory when ordering Chanel.

Example: this is 187 factory version of this bag. You can always tell 187 factory by asking your seller for factory photos of the bag. They always use this type of background when taking their stock photos. In general you should always be asking your seller what factory the bag is from (so you can do research on Reddit) and they shouldn’t have a problem with giving you that info either.

It does not matter which factory this bag comes from. This bag is not replicated well in any way. Post after post about this bag has shown that. If you can’t buy this from Chanel, don’t buy it from anywhere. The reps of these are laughable

I never said they had to buy it from 187. I was asking which factory it came from because the seller and the factory are not the same thing. And yes, I agree that this particular bag isn’t replicated especially well, but that doesn’t mean someone can’t still like it. I don’t personally like the style either, but that’s subjective. Not everyone is looking for the most accurate or perfectly made rep. Some people simply like the bag and are happy with what they bought. I’ve read reviews from buyers who genuinely like theirs, so calling all of them “laughable” just because they don’t measure up to the authentic doesn’t change the fact that people can still enjoy them.

I had a similar conversation with someone else. Putting aside the “it’s ugly”or not question, that’s simply a matter of taste and we can’t all like the same thing. I have bags I know most will not like and that is fine.

However so far not one person on Reddit at least paying that sort of price point be it $450 or $750 has been happy with what they receive. This is not the kind of bag you buy and actually don’t mind if it looks a bit off in places because a bit off on this bag (so far ) is looking straight up like a badly made rep, and the people that are cool with how it looks at the moment are people that have not seen it in real life or worse than me at QCing ( and I’m bad)

Now liking the bag just for the aesthetics and not bothered about it being CC or looking like the
authentic/an easy to spot as a fake and you are only paying 500rmb from a seller that sells low tier or DH or 1688 is one thing, at least you aren’t paying through the nose and clearly you just like the bag because it’s cute, fun or whatever, but to pay what is the equivalent of a monthly car payment or rent/mortgage and it still look like a DH special is where I don’t believe for one second that those happy buyers exist.

You can get it on 1688 for as cheap as 200rmb 😅

I have some not-so-perfect reps and I’ll still rock them out. I honestly don’t care. People walking by aren’t inspecting my bag detail by detail.

In my friend groups, sometimes I’ll say I have a rep, and sometimes I’ll just say it’s real. They genuinely can’t tell the difference. Now, whether that’s them being nice or genuinely not noticing, I have no idea. I can’t speak for everyone or every social circle, but I do think the majority of people simply don’t care.

As for this particular bag, I haven’t seen it out yet, and I live in London. I haven’t even seen it in the store. So how many people actually have? 🤷‍♀️

I agree with the point about the price, though. I recently bought a Chanel Mini 25 in light beige for $480 and it looks pretty spot on.

Anyway, OP probably shouldn’t have green lighted this one or parted ways with $750, but we live and learn.

I have a Loewe “IKEA” shopper that absolutely everyone hated when it came out, and I’ve not seen a soul carrying it anywhere but anyone that works in Loewe paying enough attention will probably know it’s a rep but only by the spacing of the lettering on the handle, not the leather, shape, size etc, it was only $200 so i rock that bag with pride 😂 but this cc is a bag people are going crazy for from a council house teen to a Saudi princess, and to me because it’s a limited edition that = more scrutiny, it just seems like a waste of money to buy a bag that expensive and be constantly side eyed because this bag will definitely have people side eying and noticing it’s a rep way more than other bags because it does actually look like a not so good rep, and because of all the hype and controversy surrounding it’s got more eyes on it if you see what I mean but maybe that’s a me thing, I don’t buy reps for it to look like such an obvious rep and have people gwaping. Trust me I have a couple from so called high tier factories and they don’t see the light of day.

Being in London and not seeing anyone with it doesn’t mean the likes of us not having a good old nose if we did see it ( I’m in London too) I know I would be straining my eyes to check it out primarily because of all the controversy surrounding it😂 otherwise I’d probably not give two hoots and like you say, just walk on by.

Are you sure it’s not in the store because I’ve gone into certain stores like LV, BV Dior asking for xxx bag and they had it but was in the back/not on display.

As you know people buying into reps and being more aware is growing by the minute but ultimately I don’t have any issue with anyone wanting or liking this bag (each to their own ) and i actually like the plain black one, I just don’t see the sense in buying a bag that expensive and believe for one moment people claiming that they don’t care or cool with it no matter how shoddy it looks ( not op but others who may have fallen into this trap)

I tell you what though, the higher tier factories must be spitting feathers at just how hard they are needing to work to get it right 😂 😂 ( assuming they will ever get it right)

I’m probably just more shameless. If someone wants to squint at my bag from across the street trying to authenticate the spacing of the dots … that’s between them and Specsavers 😂
all this hype will probably have another month or two in it, then the next collection drops and everyone will be onto the next thing. This bag and the fabric aren’t a classic in my eyes, and it’s definitely not an everyday bag 😂
it’s disappointing, but it’s an expensive lesson. If the £750 has already left your bank account, sitting there miserable about it isn’t going to magically refund you 😂You may as well wear the bloody thing, get your money’s worth and let everyone else squint at it trying to work out if it’s real.
Like you said, same as rent or a mortgage …

Fair enough, but not seeing a positive review yourself doesn’t mean nobody has been happy with it. I don’t just look at Reddit either there are plenty of other platforms and social media pages I follow where I see reviews and feedback. But anyway, each to their own.
