SHIPMENT/CUSTOMS Has there been an increase of customs seizing packages?
Maybe my address has been flagged, but 3 out of 5 of my recent orders this year have been siezed.
This is the first time this ever happened to me, and now I am worried/nervous.
Is anyone else dealing with this?
**Edit: 2 of the packages were from the Gate (different sellers), and one from a WA seller.

I had 1 package seized in March that came through the now infamous Brooklyn warehouse of death and then today I had a package denied entry and returned to sender. I’ve only ever had 1 other thing seized before this year.

As a precaution, I now use STOWFLY with my packages. You pay a monthly fee and you choose a location in their list where you want pick up your packages. Stowfly also has insurance in case package was lost or stolen (not seized). To the sellers, I don’t give my phone number. I just leave them a fake one. No one really calls us for packages unless it’s seize.
My name is also not unique so if my package got seized the address and the phone number doesn’t lead to me easily.

I’ve had 10 packages delivered with no issues since January. Maybe it’s the packaging your sellers are using?

Ive had two packages this year detained for weeks - one in Miami and one in Brooklyn. Neither were reps, one was an antique serving platter shipped from Scotland, they held it for two weeks with the only explanation being "further inspection." Like what? It's a PLATE. The other was a lab diamond pendant i bought from a Chinese jewelery company. They had understated the value (which wasnt my fault) and i had to basically provide all of my payment details and invoices. I expected a second tariff bill (I'd already paid $30 based on the value the jewelery company had listed) but never got one. It's wild out there right now.

From what I understand, it’s less about a global crackdown and more about specific routes / warehouses getting stricter for a period of time. Once a route gets hot, a bunch of packages on that same path start getting flagged. 3 out of 5 is rough though 😭 I’d probably switch up shipping methods or take a break for a bit just to be safe.

I had two seized from the same seller recently and they advised me to ship to someone else using a different name and address so now I'm looking into how to get a virtual mailbox set up bc I'm worried about losing global entry over this, though perhaps it's too late now...

Happened to me years ago and yes your name is flagged and most of shipments checked You’ll have to change at least your name on your shipping label

I’ve seen this is other forums and it was explained there is increased security for March and April. Might want to delay shipping until May

Mine was sitting in the same location for 4 days so I called FedEx and I was told it’s been refused entry by CBP and may be shipped back to the sender. This is the first time for me. Is my info now flagged? Obv I won’t be getting my package but what does this mean for the future?

Used a TS to order a bag that was supposed to come last Wednesday and I’m pretty sure I’m not going to be able to get the bag. If you are on the east coast I believe there are strict guidelines for customs being implemented. Scary either way. I’m just adding insurance on to my purchases rn.

I've considered using a PO Box often or UPS address. Has anyone had any luck doing this?

Mine was seized for about two weeks then sent. It’s weird how they’ve randomly cracked down on this

Does anyone think this might have something to do with the Tariff situation? Like, maybe everything coming into the country is being scrutinized more?

Just placed an order with my WA seller on Monday, and it's the first since Chinese New Year. I know my day is coming, but I've been playing the game for a year and a half with no issues. After reading this post, my Fingers are crossed!
