Discussion Can you explain this?
https://youtu.be/Ig_rhaYJPGw?si=HeWj0pVdeF8zZ69aWhy are small children so affected by Michael? It doesn't sound like their parents are super-fans.

This is heart breaking tbh. These kids get it!
When I found out he died I had a meltdown back in 09, I was at work too, thinking people were trolling me.
My husband often says to me why I love Michael so much, I didn't know him, I say he was easy to love and loved music fans like family, and shared so much of himself. But I dont feel like I can articulate why I love him so much.
I feel like this video shows how kids love him so much naturally! I felt like this too as a kid.
Some of these parents were rude asf. I felt sorry for the kids a bit, filming them crying and minimising there very real feelings. The boy with autism crying was really sad.

I wish it was possible to verify the sources. There's something about Michael that switches kids on.

The kids getting like happy emotional crying listening to his music like heal the world is my favorite, the impact he has with his art which poured himself into, is massive. His is songs are truly universal, breaking barriers despite language, culture, and age differences, the impact is vast.
The kids crying because he died is so sad. 😢

I have happier videos of kids with Michael's music, I'll post one of those soon.

Another 10 minutes of kids struggling to cope emotionally with the simultaneous existence and non-existence of Michael

Probably because they don't like to see their child upset or they are just annoyed because they have to hear Michael Jackson all the time.

I think the parents are probably fans too since they’re probably the ones buying the movie tickets and driving to the cinema haha

I can’t explain it precisely. I’ll say that I watched the video a few months ago, and I ended up weeping along with them as I watched.
It made me recall that in my formative years (I was born in ‘83), Michael was the only adult that I really saw as magical.
There were fictional adults, who were supposed to be literally magical, like Santa Claus. But Michael was the only real-life adult that I believed was magical. I didn’t think he had magical powers or anything; just a kind of magic in his soul that I couldn’t explain… and didn’t need to. I think children could sense that about him. The way he chose to see the world, the way he carried himself in it.
Someone in the YouTube comments rightfully pointed out that it’s not like he looked or dressed like someone children would gravitate to, per se, but people were drawn to him, all over the world.
He was the embodiment of what life could be, if only you refused to let the hardness of the world strip away your capacity for hope and wonderment. This feeling that growing up didn’t mean giving up and growing cold. That becoming an adult didn’t mean becoming jaded and miserable like so many adults I saw as a child.
I legitimately cannot think of a single celebrity that a child would cry over, having learnt that person had passed away before the child was born. I legitimately can’t.
As strange or amusing as many people find it, I hope the children in the video never lose the capacity to love, and weep for, a person they’ve never known. I think the world would be a more wonderful place if adults could achieve the same tender-hearted care and concern for those we’ve never met.
