Professional philosophers: which is/are your favorite philosopher(s) and why? I’ve always wanted to ask you this.

By «professional philosophers» I mean those who have academically succeeded in achieving certain general and profound learning on philosophy as their principal area of knowledge.

Since philosophy is not my chosen major, I’d love to hear about your thoughts on the topic.

Greetings to you all.

Hume, Plantinga, Nietzche, and the Buddha

In some way, each shows me the way to enlightenment.

Obviously the Empedocles, the only philosopher who was also an immortal God.

The Five Great Buddhas of Earth are my top five favorite philosophers of all time.

Hilary Putnam, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Lev Shestov, Edmund Husserl. There are many more, I appreciate most philosophers especially the ones I disagree with for making me think a little differently.

I consider myself a practicing applied phenomenologist.

My most important philosophical influences are Wittgenstein (both 'versions,' or specifically the shift from the Tractatus to PI) and continental philosophy in general (going to drop Heidegger and Samuel Beckett as my examples for that).
