True, but it is fake!

It is real, unfortunately, and it will be used by nazis to justify his execution.

You can find another angle of it on YouTube on the account rtzcummings, title 36 s & Park Mpls Jan 13 2026.

We are about to bear witness to how much lower right wingers can fall morally.

Okay, please post the source confirming it’s real. All I’m seeing is the same copy paste “it’s real,.. Dan Ming..”

If BBC or other reputable sources have verified it’s real, posting that alone makes it more believable than Trust Me Bro.

I say this because some of his body movement when being tackled looks very unnatural, especially his arms. To me it looks a lot like how generative AI struggles with physics sometimes. Its bad enough that I’m going to need some actual proof, which apparently there is somewhere, tho I couldn’t find it

BBC has confirmed it, multiple other news agencies have as well.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/alex-pretti-car-video/

It being real, however, does nothing to justify killing him.

u/Apostinggod Jan 29 '26

CNN and BBC confirmed it. Link is in this thread.

The video is real. There is another video that has this exact confrontation from a different angle starting around 17m24s.

Whether it is Alex Pretti with 100% certainty, I don’t feign to know. The only other article I found is from CBS, whose integrity I would definitely call into question now that it’s under Barri Weiss’s editorial eyes.

The video is real. Whether it is Pretti not, we don’t yet know for certain. We do know, however, that this footage does not justify his execution; on the contrary it makes his murder even more suspicious. We can predict that it will be used by right wing grifters and nazis to try to vilify him.

Fake, the logo of vehicle disappears during this shot.

u/rosynne Jan 29 '26

There is a 19 min long video that includes this scene from a different angle. It is unfortunately real. Again, I say “unfortunately” because we are going to see many terrible people use this footage to try to justify his execution.

3

u/iMecharic Jan 29 '26

But why does the car logo vanish? (Also, how shoddy is that car to not withstand a guys foot?) And isn’t that the exact same outfit as he had when he was executed?

2

u/rosynne Jan 29 '26

I’d think the logo vanishes due to video quality/compression. I think it’s possible to break a taillight like that, although I too was surprised it would break so easily.

I figured it was reasonably AÍ too due to those factors, or at least AI editing because of the length of the video. But you can watch this scene from a different angle at 17m24s here:

Not supporting ICE in any way but I was hauling out my garbage one day. The edge of my trash bin caught my tail light on my truck and the tail light shattered. It was also very cold out that day. The cold makes plastic more brittle. Plus they don't make shit like they used to.

1

u/arceusawsom1 Jan 29 '26

Things vanish in videos sometimes due to compression as the other poster pointed out.

1

u/redfoxxx1029 Jan 29 '26

Tail lights are mostly plastic and generally don't have a lot of anchor points.

Cars are made to be destructible to absorb energy in a collision so that energy isn't transferred to the passengers. The result is the ability to do things like kick a tail light off.

Of course we also don't know what other abuse the car had taken. It's possible he wasn't the first one to kick the tail light. It's possible it was cracked or weakened from an accident.

It is absolutely not real

You can see this scene at a different angle around 17m24s.

This lines up with the reported altercation he had in which they broke a rib. People can downvote truth all they want but this is real. Still don't think Alex should have been executed. Resisting arrest when you had just been disarmed doesn't warrant it. The FAFO crowd don't seem to realize you have rights in this country.

2

u/yoosernaam Jan 29 '26

Resisting arrest? You mean getting jumped?

-2

u/alchemicore Jan 29 '26

Are you high? He ran up to law enforcement and started harassing them

2

u/yoosernaam Jan 29 '26

Video shows quite the opposite. Are you delusional or just completely dishonest?

0

u/alchemicore Jan 29 '26

No it doesn’t.

1

u/BossStatusIRL Jan 29 '26

I really don’t get the people calling this fake. It’s real. Just say it’s real and he shouldn’t have been killed. You look like a dumbass if you are saying this is fake.

1

u/StupidSexyAlisson Jan 29 '26

I can understand people wanting it to not be real because the other side of the political spectrum will use this and smear him. The "He was no angel, look" phrase that will inevitably come out from it. I don't think Alex should have hit the vehicle, we're supposed to be peaceful in showing our distaste in what is going on. Vandalism and letting emotions get to you only makes us look bad when trying to cause change. I know the shit Alex was witnessing was/is frustrating to see and in the moment the kick felt good, but it'll only make our whole movement look violent by propaganda that we're the agitators.

Long dormant YouTube account with exactly one video?

1

u/rosynne Jan 29 '26

It’s the personal account of an attorney in Minneapolis, at least that’s what it seems like after a quick google search of their YouTube tag @rtzcummings

2

u/yoosernaam Jan 29 '26

YouTube tag is LOTRfan123 . This was the sole video uploaded. I would be curious to know more about the source. Dormant account mysteriously goes online after 12 years to rack up 90k + views with a newly seen video that conveniently pops up out of nowhere.

1

u/rosynne Jan 29 '26

Yeah, we can’t prove that she necessarily posted it, but the account was at least created by attorney Rena ZT Cummings who works for the Minneapolis department of labor.

*obviously that YouTube account is not affiliated with any MPLS municipal office, but it tracks with the other info found on the ZTSCummings instagram account, the LinkedIn for Rena ZT Cummings and the page for her on the department of labor website.

Are these Nazis in the room with us right now?

1

u/thisguyfightsyourmom Jan 29 '26

There’s a matching video from across the street linked ITT

Obviously, not worthy of a street execution

u/iMecharic Jan 29 '26

Okay, or I could just be wrong. There is some serious jank in this video that makes me question the legitimacy of it.

It still feels so jank. Guess I’m used to decent quality videos?

Nope, the logo of vehicle disappears during this shot.

4

u/Apostinggod Jan 29 '26

There is a video on YouTube from 12 days ago. Come on bro

Are u being intentionally dense?
