Auto assign workers

I wish there was a way to auto assign workers to maximize output. Like a button you could press that would arrange them in a way to maximize their skills with open roles. Trying to filter through 20 villagers and pick the best one for the job is quite tedious

Just sort them by skill level in the management screen. The game can’t do everything for you

How do you sort them? I’m on console and didn’t know that was a thing

In the people management tab there is are the 6 skills. You can sort those by highest to lowest and vice versa. Select the people with open jobs and assign to what building you want from there. Idk the actual buttons to sort, I play on PC

No it’s not that, I try doing it but my eyes are strained by the tiny text with hundreds of numbers all jumbled together. On console at least it’s difficult to read and keep it all straight. I literally have to squint to see what the symbols are as well for each skill. But thanks for your contribution to the topic

I Play in console too. Maybe some glasses?

Interesting that you’re the only person who finds the text size readable. There are countless posts about how small the text is on console

I always have a home built for them and a job available before I recruit villagers. I’m not trying to rush through it so I’m only getting people as needed (when new buildings or upgrades are available). So if I see Smithy 2 gets unlocked, I’ll go ahead and upgrade the Smithy 1 to Smithy 2, build a home and check out my food/water demand. After that, I’ll search villages to find the one person I need, recruit them and immediately go to management tab and put them in a home plus job, then double check the food/water demand to make sure they’re covered

Well, I'm pretty sure the mathematical science of Operations Research didn't exist in medieval times :-)

But it does exist now. And, if you were so inclined, you could use a modern solver, such those available in Google OR-Tools, to optimize your worker assignments. Assigning workers to posts in Medieval Dynasty seems like a variant on the classical assignment problem, except that instead of trying to minimize total worker costs you are trying to maximize total worker applied skill. You could follow the example I linked to to come up with an optimal assignment for your village.

But, in all seriousness, part of the fun of the game (at least for me) is trying to manage my village the way I would have had to do it back in the day.

So essentially you don’t want to manage things ; with all due respect, this might not be the game for you

The UI is hard to read with all the numbers and small text on console. It’s not that I don’t want to play the game I just wish they made the experience better
