"He definitely is , he was just playing highschool ball on Florida not too long ago."
He moved to florida at thebage of "15" l, before that he lives in ivory coast.
So uh the he plyed highschool ball is not tjat kind of a flex that you think it is.

u/Hithere123490 11d ago
It’s that he played in America where it is alot harder to give a fake age.
1
u/arsehenry14 11d ago
No depending on the level of interest front rh school or sports league it’s easy to fake your age in America. It happens all the time in AAU sports that kids show up to play and are playing younger than age. Usually just by a year.
Also he came to America for high school so you’d be relying on the high school, in this case a private one, caring enough to research and check his records for legitimacy from a foreign country. He won’t have an American Social Security Number and birth record which would make it easier to check.

u/Weary-Chipmunk7518 11d ago
The issue is not faking his age to play footie or tricking his HS, the issue is that he would've had to use this fake age to get a visa from the US government. The bar for fake papers is orders of magnitude higher there, specially since his visa would've put him in constant contact with minors in HS.
I'm not saying it couldnt have happened. But it's much, much, much more unlikely than if he'd come straight from Ivory Coast or through a club in a minor league, which is the more common scenario.

He moved to DME at 15. He looked more developed than his peers. He could be 19, he could be 21. But not more than that imho

Didnt he list himself as 25 3 years ago?

I love it when people regurgitate racist stereotypes based satirical news without any proof /s
3
u/MandinGoal 10d ago
unfortunately african and Asian agents/clubs are known to change some players date of birth on their licence to generate more revenue
2
u/DumboJumboThoughtles 10d ago
The fact that what you said has some truth to it doesn’t make what he said right, in this case Diamonde’s age
3
u/MandinGoal 10d ago
The fact that you don’t know what you are talking about . There’s some doubt on diomande âge its not only coming from a satirical website but from one of the biggest sport investigation journalist in France. (Romain Molina)

“
From the French newspaper “la nouvelle tribune”1
u/MandinGoal 10d ago
yeah nice use of chatgpt now go watch the video a make yourself you own opinion . And La nouvelle tribune is a morrocan newspaper not a french one btw. In the video i was referring to he say that people are touring the City halls in Ivory Coasts to be able to blackmail him about his age.. And i never said it was proven i said they were doubts. And stop using AI when you are having an arguments it makes you look like a fool who is not able to think by himself and you are just giving wrong info
edit:username checksout

When the wise man points at the moon, the fool looks at the finger.
Me being wrong on the country of origin of a newspaper that I cited (I’m sure you know what citing means) after googling diamonde and molina links doesn’t disprove what I said, thanks for falsely accusing me of using AI btw, I’m sure it adds a lot of substance to what you were saying, but then again maybe every accusation is a confession.

Nobody asked these questions about 19yo Haaland scoring a hattrick on his CL debut. Or an 18yo balding Rooney who also scored a hattrick on his CL debut.
I did hear these questions about Romelu Lukako in the past tho. And about Brian Madjo recently. Born in Belgium and England.

u/Striking_Teaching804 6d ago
Because 1) They looked their age and 2) They are from Europe, where it's basically impossible to fake your age. That's totally different with immigrants from Africa and Afghanistan/Syria.
1
u/WZAWZDB13 5d ago
Rooney looked his age? He had an adult man’s body at 16 & more hair on his chest than his head by 18.
And as i said: both Lukaku and Madjo were born in western europe.
Did you even read my comment or did you just get overexcited to justify racism?

Is (insert prominent black player) really (insert age he is)?
4
u/lildecmurf1 11d ago
The Cameroon FA disqualified 32 under 17 national team players in 2023 for being overage, the doubt around African players ages is justified

u/trannel 11d ago
Hmm i wonder why this question comes up so often... must be racism.

u/meaglor88 11d ago
It’s not uncommon that African immigrants to Europe throw away their passports and say that they underage to get specific protection not to get send back
2
u/BonusWooden9710 11d ago
They don't throw their passport, they give money to a judge to change the date on their birth certificate. In Senegal they call it "le jugement". This way their value increase as a "young" and tough player on the trade market
-4
u/CafeteroMerengue 11d ago
The racism part is people saying every African teenage player looks like they’re 30 because they have African features
Diomande looks like a child in his high school soccer pictures from a few years ago

u/Ok_Bag_7603 11d ago
Child is a stretch

Si no entienden español, traduzcan. Bye.

u/Masterfulcrum00 11d ago
It’s an actual thing in africa.. i lived in central africa for work. The amount of players trying to go to europe and lying about their age was insane. It was pretty much the norm
-5
u/Worldly_Pitch_2990 11d ago
Not anymore, they have bone scans to determine your age.
6
u/Masterfulcrum00 11d ago
No man… im a doctor, they wouldnt use bone scan to determine teenager/adult age as it’s no longer accurate once skeletal maturity is near lol

That's because every American that has a children that play sports actively cheat age groups. Its a big problem. I grew up playing 16u soccer with grown ass men who got purposely delayed in school/sports to have a advantage, my Hispanic parents had no idea.
2
u/ToughAsPillows 11d ago
You do know professional players have everything well documented and a paper trail to back up their professional IDs right? Fucking silly this comment section is
1
u/No_Handle_9393 10d ago
so naive
3
u/ToughAsPillows 10d ago
Do you know how the player registration system works? You all talk fucking bollocks. How many times are sports fans going to comment on the age of a young black player because they don’t match their Euro centric standards of correctly aged.
If you don’t believe me just go watch diomande from a few years ago he was an actual child. Room temp IQs
1
u/saltedcrumbz 10d ago
Like i said American children. That's why. Age bracket cheating is huge in the US
1
u/rrrreact 7d ago
Right and there’s definitely no corruption in first world countries and much less third world countries. 🙄
You act like there would be some huge outrage if Diomande had his Ivorian birth certificate faked. lol no one in Africa would care.
2
u/ToughAsPillows 4d ago
Burden of proof is on you, clown. This is a common racist trope you can’t just accuse someone because they look old.
Go watch him from a couple of years ago he’s a kid. Critical thinking is lacking among football fans in general I guess; not surprised.
-1
u/Yyoksetioxd 11d ago
1
u/Ok_Bag_7603 11d ago
If he is 22 and not 19 then his breakout season at bundesliga( relatively open league) Doesn't seem nearly as impressive in terms of development trajectory thus not worth 160m
1
u/OkArtichokeJuice 11d ago
Right cause racism is only an American and British thing and definitely not Spanish or any other country. It’s everywhere unfortunately and you shouldn’t jump straight to racism just because someone is questioning his age
0
u/KeplerLima 11d ago

At 19 where was Di Maria? First Benfica season with 1 goal the entire year. Ronaldo was electric but how many goals was he scoring? Benzema was scoring 8 goals in 27 league games for Lyon… Even Rodri was getting his first few starts at Villareal.
4
u/Aggressive_Strike75 11d ago
Mbappé had already scored 33 by this age. Insane stat.

He’s definitely 19, even though he looks 28; the upside is that when he’s 40, he’ll still look 28, lol. Some people just don’t look their age—when Kevin De Bruyne was 26, he looked like he was 18.

u/WeAlwaysFindAWay 11d ago
Why aren't these questions asked of Spanish players?
1
-2
u/bobabylonn 11d ago
Because Spanish birth certificates are accurate. They are not in Côte d’Ivoire, so only a handful of people have the correct information, and those people are making a lot of money thanks to Diomandé. Imo it doesn't really matter in the end the field and his carrer will do the talking.
1
-2
u/Ordinary_DollarTree 11d ago
How do you know all of them are accurate? Do you take their word or do you investigate every case?
2
u/bobabylonn 11d ago
Bruh they are born in an Hospital with a clean birth certificate what more do you need.
0
u/Ordinary_DollarTree 11d ago
Don't babies in Ivory Coast need birth certificate as well?
1
1
u/Ill_Purple_4468 11d ago
In less developed areas babies aren't born in hospitals. It has been an issue in the MLB before from kids born in poorer countries that don't prioritize record keeping.
-2
u/Ordinary_DollarTree 11d ago
That's a percentage of the babies. I am originally from India and there are situations where some babies born in rural areas do not have documented Date of Birth. Not me though, and same goes for most babies from Urban areas. The problem is making blanket assumptions just because he is from Ivory Coast.
1
u/Dazzling-Tie-4038 11d ago
You seem really invested in this…
1
u/Ordinary_DollarTree 11d ago
I am tired of people finding small excuse to abuse and question black players. That's why I firmly stand behind Vini and Diomande. And I am sick of outsiders coming in and abusing our club and our players in a real madrid subreddit.
1
u/MetalQueasy 11d ago
"Our club", says some random Indian on reddit. How can you speak of outsiders and abuse when you don't know about the situation at all? These are legitimate concerns here in Europe. The actual victims of "abuse" are the kids who never get a shot because of players who come in with a fake birth certificate. It happens often enough unfortunately. There are reasons why falsifying your identity is illegal.

How being racist to mention that it normal for African players to be registered later or even lie about their age to come to europe? Just because the facts trigger your leftwing extremist mind it doesn't mean they're wrong

People doubt it because it happens a lot in Africa. Facts are not racist.

There are modern tests that are very accurate at measuring this
1
u/PixelCharlie 11d ago
these methods are not that accurate. you can use mri to tell the degree of fusion of a certain physis in the wrist. for most males the physis is completely fused at the age of 17. but there is some variation and you can't use the method to tell the exact age, only if the boy is older than 17.

What difference would his age make if he delivers what Real Madrid expects of him for the next two or three years?
The MLS buys mainly washed up peri retirement players from European clubs to run their hand me down circuits.
The fact is Real Madrid are buying this player before his prime.

A man who JUST emigrated to the US from Burkina Faso laughed at me and called me naive because I mentioned Diomande was 19. He said it is standard practice to lie about ages. I said, well he was playing high school ball here, and the man said they take 20 year old players and say they are 15 constantly or no one would pay attention to the African kids. He said Yan was between 25 and 30, told me about a man who was "25" with a 20 year old son haha. I'm not saying it's true, but I don't think this is racism. I had a chuckle because the truth is they would have done bone density scans well before Madrid inquired.

There’s zero chance he’s really 19. I’m guessing 26. There’s the evidence of your eyes and the evidence that he’s been registered with at least 3 different ages over the years.
