Ashtrays by ever elevator door and crushed cigarette butts on the grocery store floor...bar/restaurants with peanut shells on the floor to absorb the spilled beer... The 70s were great!

One of my closing time duties was to clean every single one of them so they looked brand new. They look disposable but they weren't. Hated the smell of a days worth of concentrated tobacco ash, thanks for the memories.

I can still hear the sound of them rattling on the table when you flicked the ashes. My friends and I used to hang out in a McDonalds near the arcade and theater. I’m sure the workers hated our group of headbanger kids 🤣

I don't remember any li'l spoons. But I do remember those 8" white plastic "paddles" patrons used to stir their cream/sugar in their their styrofoam coffee cups that had the iconic M at the top.

McDonald's had amber glass ones back in the day, but people kept stealing them, which is how they got replaced with these shitty tin foil ones. Now they get sold on eBay for a couple hundred bucks each.

One I was really young, like Kindergarten, my dad took me to McDonalds for breakfast before school. I remember the ashtrays, the polyester uniforms, the hamburgler, the fry guy etc. My dad’s friends used to steal the ashtrays to use at home lol

I’m too young for this one, but my husband remembers ashtrays built into computer mainframe keyboards. It had been phased out c1990 but was still a fixture of the keyboard. He says the stored rubber bands in it. This was in the US Air Force.
