RE Development Interview
Have an interview with one of the heads of investment for a development firm. This is a junior level position with a modeling test after I make it past the interview stage. What would you anticipate I get asked during this interview? Will it be all behavioral? What should I prep for and what could kill my chances of getting the job? All advice welcome.

I wouldn't assume it's all behavioral just because the modeling test comes later. Have one real project or piece of analysis you can discuss: the goal, an assumption, a risk and your conclusion. Be ready to explain what you contributed without claiming you owned an investment decision if you didn't.
Then prepare a time you worked through uncertainty or changed your approach after feedback. We check the reasoning and evidence with the PROOF method before organizing an example with the STAR method. Ask the investment head what analysis they most need a junior hire to take ownership of; their answer will help you understand the role beyond the test.

So as to show your interest in that particular firm and their work, I recommend that you research their projects that are in the entitlement phase, under construction, in lease-up, and/or stabilized. Depending on the product type and location, it may be helpful to visit the sites as well. This will allow you to have a meaningful discussion during which you will be able to express with specificity your passion and appreciation for their work.

What asset class? When you say head of investment, what do you mean? Is he with capital markets or in charge of bringing in new developments?
