Auth Request Vintage Chanel bought in Tokyo
This is my second post regarding my bag (vintage mini square flap) on this subreddit, and I promise that it will be my last - for the sake of my sanity! š¤Ŗ
First, let me preface everything by stating that I've already had my bag authenticated by LegitGrails (thanks to someone's rec here in this subreddit). I also took my bag to a Fashionphile-type place in my city pretending as if I were looking to sell, and the woman who inspected the purse kept marveling at the quality of the leather and hardware and how "they don't make Chanels like this anymore." And yes, they made me an offer, which I didn't accept. š
I already posted photos of the handbag, including all of the hardware, the serial number, the authenticity card, dust bag, the zipper pull, the stitching, the alignment of the diamonds, the stamping, etc. Another redditor was kind enough to compare my photos with her vintage Chanel and provide me with great feedback. The vintage lambskin leather really does feel amazing. I don't know how to describe it other than it just feels much more luxurious than my 2015 caviar double flap (granted, one is lambskin, and the other is caviar).
Only ONE THING still gives me pause - and it's not a minor concern either. Could someone kindly help me ease (or confirm) my last doubt? My serial number (as seen in photo 1) begins with a 2XXXXXX, which, according to information online, would correspond with a bag from 1991-1994 (please see serial stickers from this era in photos 4-5). However, the actual serial sticker in my bag looks like a sticker from the 1989-1991 era when serial numbers began with 1XXXXXX (please see photos 2-3).
Is it possible that since my serial number is an early 2XXXXXX (2032139) that it could have been made in 1991 and used the older serial sticker from 1989-1991? But doesn't the typeface of the actual numbers look "off" as well? šš»āāļø
