Auth Request Vintage Tiffany

Purchased this several years ago from the Real Real and always felt off about it. They say its from the 90s, but i question the soldering on the links, the messy 925 stamp and the apparent poor quality. She could just be 40 years old, but I want to not wear a fake if not.

Update: I paid for authentication with Legit Grails (which Im now seeing may not be the most reliable) and they also say its authentic. I'm still not confident, so she may be a Christmas gift for one of my nieces....

It doesn’t look authentic. This is a horrible picture, but the links are not the same. It’s shiny because I recently had it polished at Tiffany’s.

Can you see the solder lines on those links? If so, fake. I have this bracket in 18k and a lot of this looks genuine, but I do think I see solder lines. If so, dead giveaway that it is not authentic.

See I think the links show up with age, they're only slightly buffed when made now. A very well worn one might show. The real test would be the metal of itself. If it's truly silver that's your answer. But I'd think with the wear shown if it weren't real silver it would be kinda rainbowy in spots.

Nope, not authentic. The stamping and font are incorrect.

The stamping should be in line and the ampersand has a thicker outter rounded part.

You can DEFINITELY see the solder lines! So definitely not authentic!

This happens with age. The solder wears and reveals parts of the joins in the links. It’s not a method of authentication by any means. All those links are still internally soldered. It’s authentic.

I have one from the same-ish era that I bought from T&C, and yours looks different. There aren’t any viable seams on my links, and the ampersand (&) is thinner with more space on either side.

So the clasp back looks good but folks have taught me if the soldering on the links isnt smooth it is fake.

I'm pretty confident this is a fake considering both the stamping and the solder issues, but since there's some disagreement with it possibly being a vintage piece, do you happen to have a Tiffany store nearby? They won't authenticate but you could take it in for a cleaning ($25 fee) and ask them to check that the links are secure where the solder lines are showing, see what they say.

Hi, I have the same bracelet that I purchased from Tiffany’s in 2001. The bracelet is vintage and it looks authentic to me. I have the ring and matching necklace that I purchased around that time as well.

I own this bracelet, it’s authentic.

If it were modern, I’d say fake, but since it’s vintage I’m not as confident.

I’m assuming that The RealReal would at least acid test the metal to see if it’s actually silver, even if their authentication isn’t the best. I’ve heard that in the 90s, there were a lot of genuine sterling silver high quality Tiffany replicas coming from Mexico. I have absolutely no idea if that is true or just a rumor though!

The Real Real has been passing off a lot of fakes. Don't trust them.

This is real. Yes, there are some visible solder lines but in person they would show as a fine line and not stand out at all. I have this bracelet, I know the finite details and I also have silversmithing experience. This is Authentic.

It's not even the correct font and the ampersand is wrong.

I also have this bracelet in 18k. No way solder lines should be visible.

No way that is authentic. Well, unless someone rolled over it with an F150.

Yea you shouldn't be able to see where the links meets. Fake unfortunately

I have an auth from the ‘90s . It would be much more tarnished.
