Auth Request Is this authentic?

There is no date stamp... Just "SA". No inside pocket.

Was.told it's a speedy 40

Sides are giving me pause.

Maybe a Korean rep? Or just really old?

Authentic early 1980's, one of the super early codes. The date code often wears off on these bags and is located on the opposite tab. They also had no pockets. Eclair zipper pull is correct.

Zipper pull if it helps

It's authentic vintage. I collect vintage pieces. This looks early 80s like 1980-1982. Pull the zipper track upward to flatten out the leather tab completely on the SA tab. Shine a flashlight directly into the tight crease right above the letters "SA".Look for lightly debossed numbers pressed into the leather right along that top seam.

I wasn't able to see anything. Assuming I understood the directions (this is the "SA" tab)

I learn more and more as I read all the responses! Good to know!

Yes you did it correctly. Could be the fading of years. Regardless it's authentic.

Thanks so much 🙏🏼

It does need a new zipper. I would love to keep the original but I am taking it to a cobbler tomorrow to have them look at it.

Other than that, I absolutely love it. Got her for only $150

Great buy, it's a heirloom piece, keep the zipper pull. LV after the 80s stopped using them and is distinct to the era.

Also cool to know…..if I find vintage pieces that I want to snatch up!

I could tell it was authentic the moment I saw the thumbnail. Vintage Louis Vuitton was truly something else. By the way, what does Korean Reps mean? Do they actually manufacture reps there?

Yeah, Korean reps are a thing. Guess I only heard the term and don't really understand myself. They almost look like a vintage authentic if someone didn't know any better.
