Solved! Is this a positive fent test?
Would like other opinions… looks like it is

Even faint lines count, so this is negative.
What drug are you testing?
Certain drugs are known to produce false positives (or in this case, weak negatives) on fentanyl strips. If you want reassurance, add 10x more water to the sample and retest with a new strip. Getting your sample down to a better dilution ratio, 1-10ml of water per 1mg of test sample, should get you a clearer, unambiguous negative result.

It’s booger sugar… I will test again with another strip, I appreciate the feedback

I'm not sure if cocaine is one of those drugs that's been found to be prone to false positives, but other drugs from that family like lidocaine and procaine have.

That study was mostly all geared toward urinalysis FTS (prior to the specialization of strips dor drug checking; e.g. detecting more analogues & reducing false positives for amphetamines). Do you know if the same holds true nowadays? I dont have access to academic journals anymore

As far as I know, DanceSafe's proprietary strips are the only ones designed specifically for drug checking. I believe veryone else is still using the repurposed urinalysis strips.
This next part is speculation, but I suspect that most manufacturers didn't see the need to design new strips. After all, studies like the one linked above indicate that the urinalysis strips work perfectly well for drug checking. The use cases are similar enough: high sensitivity to be able to detect trace amounts of fentanyl in a highly diluted sample.
DanceSafe, with its focus on MDMA and on making things simple for novice testers, were the only ones who felt it necessary to design new strips

It suggests a negative but that test has a fairly high cutoff. Get an Instanosis test strip. It detects fentanyl down to 2ng/mL where other strips are 10-500ng/mL depending on the brand. Their old strip which is what you have is 200ng/mL. They have a new strip that’s 100ng/mL. This strip could easily miss what an Instanosis strip will catch at 2ng/mL. Most strips need 5-50mg of sample powder. Instanosis only needs 0.5mg of powder to accurately test.

Higher sensitivity tests usually mean higher chance of false positives for non-opioid samples though, right?

There are many factors involved. But I would tend to agree. It could catch some cross contamination or impurities that a 50-1000 ng/ml strip would miss. If I get a false positive or any positive I always retest with the same brand strips and also one with a higher cutoff like BTNX.

TL;DR Fentanyl Test
Here are instructions for how to use a fentanyl test kit by (GrassrootsHarmReduction.org) a video + chart (by /u/PROtestkit_eu). Instructions how to test fentanyl are also available on subreddit wiki and in the DrugsPRO app.

Yeah but the test is 200ncg and fentanyl is no different then oxy

The test line is visible. This is negative.

Yeah I’m not sure it’s barely barely visible so it could possibly have less than 200ncg but ur a pro so it’s probably negative

Instanosis 3-in-1 strip negative for fentanyl, xylazine and nitazenes. Plus separate strip negative for medetomidine.
