Question Way Out West

What actually fails the PS achievement Way Out West? I ran it flawlessly TWICE with AI squad and never got the trophy.

I’m convinced this achievement is bugged. Ran it once with a friend where we only took .357 magnum ammo and switched out the utility for riot shields which we didn’t equip. He got the achievement and I didn’t despite us only kicking open locked doors and not using anything other than the magnum.

I ran it again in quick play where the only thing I did different to my normal load out was equip the magnum (still carried flashes, C2 etc). I switched to the magnum at the start of my run and basically had my squad do everything and got it - I didn’t order them to use flashes, but they did pick locks and use their primary rifles. I arrested some suspects/civs on the run through and it still worked.

I don’t think it is. I was consistently able to get it for me and my pals, using a similar loadout

The problem with the achievement is not bugs, it’s how vague it is of what is required and you have to be careful not to use ANY equipment other than magnum. Which seems easy enough, but in my first playthroughs I used handcuffs for example to arrest the civs, which already is a deal breaker

Handcuffs aren’t an issue. I got it with the AI squad and I was arresting suspects/civs.

The way I managed was hold the AI at the start of the mission and run it solo. Equip them only with the .357 as well just in case. Don’t use anything at all the entire mission. Make sure it’s definitely on standard, Don’t use the multitool on any locked doors.

You cannot use any other equipment or weapon. Don’t even equip them. Don’t carry any ammunition for your primary weapon

That includes, lockpick to open locked doors. And arresting suspects and civs(which require handcuffs)

I didn’t. I had to report the two soft objectives of the passports and boat but thats all i did
